Time Lady of L.A. #1-#10...From a Friend
Since the majority of you probably don't have the time to read the issues themselves, I thought I'd encapsulate everything that's gone down before I start posting Issue 11 to you fine. To do that though, I thought I'd use the talents of the time traveling badass of the 25th century- Deeliah McFly. She'll be able to fill you in on what you missed. So without further ado...here's Dee. Intro Page, 3 Panels Panel 1: A little strip at the top of the pages shows a slice of white, the main color of most of the rest of the page. In the center of the area, you can see a powerful spike of energy coming down in the form of a lightning bolt toward the middle of the panel below him in a straight line. Panel 2: Where the bolt hits, we see a portal forming in an oval-like shape. A figure steps out to greet the reader. It's DEELIAH MCFLY, enterprising polysexual time traveler from the 25th century. She's dressed in a pair of jeans that are torn up at the knees and a band t-shirt that is written in an indecipherable alien language. Her trademark orange vest covering all of the letters on the shirt save for a couple of them as well as her time travel necklace shaped in the form of the African continent. DEELIAH MCFLY [to the audience; smiling]: Oh heya peeps, it's Deeliah McFly. To those who are wondering, I am time-traveler and enterprising chica of the cosmos. I call the 25th century home, though the 21st century's has its fun moments (same with the 18th...mmm, the many Bourbons!). Anyway, my girl Montoya's taking care of some business on the human colony of Vega-4 so I can fill ya guys in on the past and present of my time-traveling sesstra...the Time Lady of L.A.! Panel 3: A few moments later, we follow her movement from the right area of the panel view in the previous panel to the center of the panel here. She slips her hands into the pockets of her jeans as her spiked curly hair changes color from indigo to brown to violet to a bright golden yellow. Her eyes focused intently on the audience as she speaks. DEELIAH MCFLY [Cont., Bubble 1]: It started with a microchip called the Pegasus, a tool forged by a mighty Mayan time god as a gift to humankind to the U.S. government, which was then bastardized for military purposes because...Americans. It was almost pilfered by an evil corporation headed by the Tyrell brothers before it was stolen by a radical anti-tech group and sold on eBay to a young woman named Giana Franklin building her own tablet computer called Doc Brown. DEELIAH MCFLY [Cont., Bubble 2]: She activated it, sending her back to the 1960s for a brief and (by my experience) harrowing time. After coming back, it started a rather harrowing adventure involving her cute college buddy Amanda, a feckless FBI agent named Doug looking for one last chance at career fame, a doctor at DARPA who worked on the project and was helping the fired lawman get his job back. All leading up to the "Disaster at L.A. Live," as the L.A. Times put it the day after. DEELIAH MCFLY [Cont., Bubble 3]: You've probably read up about the big battle in October 2014 on your preferred news website of choice. The one that caused a lot of damage in L.A. Live, billions of U.S. dollars if I remember correctly, as well as a little over a thousand dead. There was the usual fear and paranoia globally, not to mention the usual shameless fearmongering by conservatives which brought them to power in the 2014 Midterms. All funded in secret by the Tyrells, because...America! DEELIAH MCFLY [Cont., Bubble 4]: On a personal note, Giana actually invited me to stick around in the 21st century and travel with them after her and Amanda left the hospital. I told her no. I like the adventure too much. Besides, I'd seen what they did that century with people who look like me. I'd rather take my chances on the rampaging alien squids!MONTOYA [Off-Panel, yelling]: DEEE!!DEELIAH MCFLY [Bubble 5]: Speaking of which...enjoy the show! Intro Page (Part II), 4 Panels Intro Page, 4 Panels Panel 1-3: A three-part set of little square panels which move from the left corner of the page toward the center. With each preceding panel, we see a familar blue portal growing in size. A shadow just appearing in the center of it on Panels 2 and 3 till finally-- VOICE [Off-Panel; Panel 1]: Buh-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-buh... VOICE [Off-Panel, higher pitched; Panel 2]: Bah-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-buh... VOICE [Off-Panel, higher pitched; Panel 3]: Bah-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-buh... Panel 4: Same setting as the previous panel. The layout taking in the rest of the page, showing in full display Deeliah McFly. She's dressed in her trademark orange vest with a pair of jean shorts and a sports bra-looking top that peaks through the center of the vest along with her trademark time traveling necklace in the shape of the African continent. You can see in the background what appears to be a tropical setting through the lense of the portal. DEELIAH MCFLY [Cont., in a rousing flourish; Bubble 1]: BAH! DEELIAH MCFLY [Bubble 2]: Hello there, it's Dee! Time traveler with the lovely A and the effective T's. You just caught me and the dearest on a little bit of vacay on Kelsim-5 to give you lovely peeps a little recap of what's gone on, in case you're just joining us (or ya just like seeing this pretty mug of mine). DEELIAH MCFLY [Cont., Bubble 3]: There's a young 21st century woman, Giana Franklin, who found out one night that her homemade tablet computer (cleverly named the "Doc Brown") could travel through time thanks to a handy, god-infused computer chip called the Pegasus. There was chaos, drama, laughs, and a big battle in the middle of Los Angeles which you may or may not have read about, depending on the era in time you're reading this from. DEELIAH MCFLY [Cont., Bubble 4]: Fast forward a couple of months, and our girl Giana decided to try her hand as a vigilante under the name Time Lady (which I sort of had a hand in...thank you!). The first try ended with a thwarted robbery...and a bullet in the leg, which rapidly healed for mysterious reasons as she chowed on lunch (in case you're wondering what that's about...#spoilers). So...a little win, a little loss all things considered. DEELIAH MCFLY [Cont., Bubble 5]: Anyway, as this all went on, the Tyrells were being their usual douchey puppeteering selves. Particularly the "charismatic" younger bro Anthony, who blackmailed Dr. Polcino into finishing TyCorp's newest super weapon, the T.E.D. (Temporal Extension Doorway), before plunging her deep into the past. Speaking of the past, we start things up with our two heroines just after Giana's last final with a long overdue pre-Christmas trip...
