Time Lady of L.A. #11: Pages 21-22
Page 21, 6 Panels- Hotel Cairo Lobby, 1985 Cairo Egypt
Panel 1: Cut back to the Attendant a few beats later. In particular, the top half of his body and his face. He flashes her a confused glance at the statement, and takes a step back from the front of the desk. His hand reaching underneath for something that is not visible to the reader.
FRONT DESK ATTENDANT [skeptical]: "Power lines..."
Panel 2: We move to a shot of Amanda behind the desk. She starts to get a little nervous, believing that the man is starting to catch on to their ruse. Though the young woman keeps up appearances in terms of her body language in case she might be wrong. In the background, you can hear what appears to be a rocket engine.
AMANDA [to the Front Desk Attendant]: Yeah. They must be fixing something. I saw some...construction trucks on our way here. Didn't we?
Panel 3: Connected to the same general setting and layout as the previous panel, we see Giana looking over in Amanda's direction. She nods in agreement at her friend's remark. Her brain following the general string of logic coming from her friend. As this goes on, the roar starts to increase in tone in the background.
GIANA [looking both at Amanda and the Attendant]: Oh, ye-yeah! It was a bad noise. They were using a lot of big, loud equipment...jackhammers and the like. Though they were in a break when we passed by.
Panel 4: Back to Amanda a split second later. The setting and layout similar to what we saw from her in Panel 2. In the background, meanwhile, the roar starts to get louder in tone as her and her friend start to settle into a groove. A light suddenly shines into the room from the front glass doors inside as she speaks.
AMANDA [to Giana]: Yeah...I guess they must have gotten off-break now. Anyway-- FELI9 [Off-Panel, in robotic voice]: Danger...Danger...
Panel 5-6: A two-part set of panels centered back on the Front Desk Attendant who, at this point, now realizes there's something more to these two ladies than they're telling them. His demeanor now similar to a bank teller when they first confront a bank robber. In Panel 5, we see his hand going back out to the top of the desk just as the light hits his face. In the next panel though, just as he finishes his intimidating statement, he sees the white light coming from outside and starts to crouch down as if anticipating something.
FRONT DESK ATTENDANT [to Giana and Amanda; Panel 5]: Enough obfuscation, you American harlots! I saw you with a member of Free Tahrir and, in the name of the E.o.M., you will face... FRONT DESK ATTENDANT [Cont.; Panel 6]: ...justice!

Panel 1: A full-page sized panel layout showing moments later as an explosion rocks the front of the hotel. A rush of smoke and fire coming inside as a result of the blast, damaging many of the interior furniture elements inside the lobby as well as the walls and various bits of art on the wall. You can also see the blast knocking both of our heroines off of their feet, thrown forward toward the base of the front desk. You can see Giana's ribs hit the desk first with a painful "CRACK!" Their respective hoverboards flying out of their hands at the same moment and hanging slightly in the air.
