Page 25, 4 Panels- Hotel Cairo Lobby, 1985 Cairo Egypt
Panel 1-4: A four-part set of panels centered, from the side, on Amanda and a still breathing Giana hobbling out toward the bombed out front entrance. Feli9 takes the lead around the center-left part of the panel view, clearing the smoke and fire with each panel that elapses. We see the small background of the hotel behind them with each panel, showing bits of charred black as the smoke and fire clears off by the time we get to Panel 4. The blasted out doorway comes into view in Panel 4 along with the damaged couch lying three feet from them.
AMANDA [to Giana; Panel 1, Bubble 1]: So...Plan HH? GIANA [weak, but steadily getting better; Panel 1]: Hurricane Hands...The Flash!... AMANDA [remembering; Panel 1, Bubble 2]: Oh right...nice! AMANDA [Cont. to Giana; Panel 2, Bubble 1]: So what do you think mighta cau-- GIANA [interjecting, in noticeable pain; Panel 2]: GAAAHH! AMANDA [to Giana with concern; Panel 2, Bubble 2]: Whoa! Stay with us, G! GIANA [to Amanda; Panel 2, Bubble 2]: It's not bad bad, Mandy...I think. Just being--hurty! AMANDA [accepting sigh, Panel 3]: Right...what do you think might have caused the explosion? GIANA [glancing split between the floor and the door; Panel 3]: Don't know. GIANA [Cont., Panel 4]: With the buzzing outside, it'd felt kinda dr--
Page 26, 6 Panels- Hotel Cairo Lobby/Outside Hotel Cairo, 1985 Cairo Egypt
Panel 1: Same setting/layout as the last panel of the previous page. Just as she's about to slowly sit down on the cushion, another pang of pain hits Giana's ribs and causes her to land on the hard cushion with a "THUD!" Amanda puts her arm over her friend's shoulder, trying to brunt the descent as best as she could.
GIANA [through squinted eyes and gritted teeth, looking at the floor]: ARGHH...frack MEE! AMANDA [to Giana, with concern; Bubble 1]: Is this a healing thing, or a pain like a "screaming torrent of hell" thing? GIANA [Bubble 2]: There's a difference?!
Panel 2: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. A few beats have passed between Panel 1 and now. We see Amanda try to lift her friend up to her feet as slow and gently as possible. Her feet just beginning to make the turn toward the doorway as the sound of banging and commotion starts to come in, albeit muted somewhat by the sound of Feli9's propellers off-panel left.
AMANDA [looking toward the off-panel blown out doorway]: Okay. Let's--let's get the hell out of this place.
Panel 3-4: We move to an action shot in Panel 3 of our heroines a few beats later as they reach the opened doorway. The sound of the propellers becoming a little less evident here compared to what we saw in Panel 2. There's also a bit of muted conversation taking place outside. In Panel 4, the view changes to a front profile shot of Giana and Amanda from the outside looking. You can see in the distance the damaged from the bombed out front desk, along with the Front Desk Attendant as he slowly rises up to his feet.
AMANDA [Cont., glancing up at the roof; Panel 3]: Who knows what other effects the explosion had on this place? GIANA [slow nod; Panel 3]: Or if...if they've got an encore planned! AMANDA [surprised, looking out in the distance; Panel 4]: Whoa, is that...Mona? VOICE [Off-Panel, incoherent muttering]: Juump...Onn...
Panel 5-6: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. The ladies take a few steps through the hotel's bombed out doorway, navigating the gap between some rubble as they do so. They try to decipher what exactly is being said to them. Meanwhile, in the background, we see the Attendant up to his feet. Before he can do anything to our heroines though, in Panel 6, we see a silver streak suddenly come into view, knocking him out cold.
VOICE [Off-Panel, incoherent muttering]: Jummpp...Onnnn... AMANDA [more curious, glancing to Giana; Panel 5]: I have no idea what she's saying. Do you, G? GIANA [leans her head forward; Panel 5]: I--I'm not sure. It sort of sounds like she's saying... FELI9 [Off-Panel, in booming robotic voice; Panel 6] JUMP ON!
