Ghede: Guerrier Extraordinaire #1: Pages 7-8
Page 7, 6 Panels- Beach, Port-au-Prince Bay: a mile and change from Corrine's Panel 1: We move a short time later (20 minutes to be exact). Ghede and the lovely Yvonne are seen laughing hysterically with their arms wrapped around each other's waists. The sparks from each of them crackling (in a figurative sense) in the air above them with each step they take. GHEDE: So, there I was--fighting this armada of Satyrs rampaging through Vatican City and-- Panel 2: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. The warrior specter stops midway through her thought and looks over toward the young Haitian woman who is flashing her an extremely quizzical look in regards to the mythological namedrop. GHEDE [to Yvonne; explanatory]: They're half-men, half-goat creatures. Super strong...super stupid! Panel 3: They continue their walk a few moments later. The scenery changing behind them, as it had been throughout the bulk of this page, although at a slower speed than before. You can also see Ghede's hand move from Yvonne's waist down to the young woman's hand. GHEDE [Cont., looking out in front of her]: They also make for somewhat decent eatings in a pinch. Especially with a good spicy... Panel 4: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. The young couple's walk is interrupted once again, though not by the pursuit of latent curiosity, but by Ghede's discovery of the scenery around her continuing to slow down. At this point, now it's just south of entirely frozen as if it was locked in some type of spell. Even Yvonne isn't immune to its charms. GHEDE [curious]: Epis! Panel 5-6: A two-part set of panels centered around the response from the titular Ghede. In Panel 5, she turns around to get a firm look at Yvonne, observing her up and down in order to find out just what happened to her. A flash of light appearing in the background unbeknownst to her. And in Panel 6, comfortable with the answer she has come up with as a result of her observations, the Voodoo specter breaks away from the frozen human woman and walks off toward the right side of the panel view. GHEDE [looking skyward, annoyed; translated from Gaelic]: Seriously, Boa? A Time Freezing spell?
Page 8, 5 Panels- Beach, Port-au-Prince Bay Panel 1: Same setting as the previous panel. The layout changes slightly to take in both Ghede and her friend, the Gaelic goddess Brigid. She's tall, red-haired with the type of powerful physique befitting an Amazon. She's dressed in a gold suit of armor that is functional and adorned with Gaelic writing and iconography befitting the House Dagda of Avalon, which pop as the resulting white sparkle just begins to dissipate. Her hand can be seen gently pressing the top of the handle to her sword. GHEDE [to Brigid]: You do know the humans all but know who the hells we are, right? Panel 2: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. We see Ghede making her way up the sand, leaving the frozen Yvonne in her place, toward Brigid (friendly grin) who is also making her way to her friend's position. GHEDE [Cont., grinning and pointing behind her toward Yvonne]: You could've at least held off till I got a little something from her! Panel 3: Close-up a few moments later of the two uber-powerful heroines standing within a couple of feet from each other with the twinkling star-filled sky in the background behind them.. Ghede's grin has faded slightly to a stoic flatline, her arms are wrapped over her chest, and her head is tilted upward to match the taller Gaelic goddess (who has returned to a stoic, businesslike facial response compared to Panel 2). GHEDE: Now...what brings you to the Cité Soleil? Personne blanche put the planet in danger again? BRIGID [to Ghede]: No more than they typically do... Panel 4: Cut to a shot of Brigid's face down to her broad, muscular shoulders. Her eyes glancing slightly downward. You can see her right arm reaching off-panel for something as she explains her rationale. BRIGID [Cont.]: I'm here because I have a job that only your...unique set of skills could be able to pull off. Panel 5: Back to Ghede, still standing in the same type of pose she had when we saw her in Panel 3. Though her body language has softened somewhat as a result of the statement, seen by the slight leftward tilt in her head. GHEDE [curious]: Must be a messy one if you only want me for it...assassination? Scouring the mind of a Venture Capitalist or a soulless world leader for juicy info maybe? I haven't tried that in awhile-- BRIGID [Off-Panel]: It's the In Between...
