Time Lady of L.A. #12: Pages 7-8
Page 7, 6 Panels- Secret Free Tahrir Compound, 1985 Cairo Egypt Panel 1: We cut back to Amanda standing five feet behind the door leading to the compound seen in the background. She tilts her head to the left and gives Giana a look of consternation mixed with a sense of fear as to what'll soon come into play. You can see Feli9 to her right around the bottom of the panel view walking over in the direction of her owner. AMANDA [Cont.]: That's the same look you had just before my Android battery you sooped up exploded. It was also the one in that future that didn't come to being when Dee showed us the... Panel 2-3: Slight close-up on Amanda's face, centering it in terms of the panel view. The same setting and layout in general as we saw in the previous panel. A look of sudden, "Holy Crap!" realization coming across her face as the proverbial light bulb flashes over her head. In Panel 3, we see her walking back toward her friend The consternation and fear in her eyes now replaced by a degree of confusion, remembering a hidden detail a few beats later. AMANDA [eyes widened; Panel 2]: The Tyrells! But... AMANDA [Cont.; Panel 3]: But they weren't close to time travel the last time we tangled with them. How could that change in a few months? Panel 4: We move back to Giana a second later. She takes a half-step to the left, looking to the ground and pondering the answer to that question. The hallway visible in the distance, along with the sight of Feli9 walking a couple of steps behind her as she thinks. GIANA [thinking]: Well, they are mega-rich tools with an occult obsession. It's not all that implausible to think they'd found something to help crack the code to time travel. Or for that matter they weren't working it long before we were on the scene. Panel 5: Back to Amanda a few moments later as what Giana's said has filtered into her head. She's stopped walking a couple of steps in front of her friend, letting out a chuckle of uneasiness in terms of the whole situation before them. You can see from the glass on the door a set of shadows passing by the pained glass top. AMANDA: Being the inspiration for an evil corporation...so wrong! So very, very wrong! Panel 6: Cut back to Giana a second later. She looks up in Amanda's direction and lets out a slightly stronger chuckle than her friend, flashing a half-grin. As was the case in Panel 4, we see part of the hallway in the background behind her. GIANA: Imagine how I feel! FELI9 [Off-Panel]: T.E.D.... Page 8, 7 Panels- Secret Free Tahrir Compound Panel 1-2: Same setting/layout as the last panel of the previous page. As the brief bout of levity reaches its proverbial end, we see Giana return to her string of thought that was in play near the end of the previous page. The previous realization fueling it as they start to move back toward the door. You can hear, as she speaks, their metal feline compatriot utter the same word that she uttered in the last panel of the previous page. GIANA [Cont., Panel 1]: Anyway, I wonder what they cooked up to do the job. Maybe something portable that can cook up a portal to slip in and out of. FELI9 [Cont., Off-Panel in robotic voice; Panel 1]: T.E.D.....T.E.D.... GIANA [Cont., Panel 2]: Though that'd take a considerable amount of power to start up like the Doc, likely something in... FELI9 [Cont., Off-Panel; Panel 2]: Doctor Polcino...Doctor Polcino... Panel 3: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. A couple of seconds later, Giana notices the name and stops moving. Her gaze looking down in the direction of Feli9 with a heightened sense of curiosity as to what she's saying. GIANA [to Feli9]: What was that, girl? Panel 4-5: Cut to Amanda on the other side of this divide, standing behind Feli9. She bends down to the ground and reaches out with her right hand to touch the robotic cat. You can see the door in the background with the same change in shadows that we saw before in the previous page is in play here as she speaks. In Panel 5, with her knees bent, she touches Feli9's cold metal rear gently. AMANDA [to Giana unsure, splitting her focus between her friend and Feli9; Panel 4]: I think I heard Doctor...Polcino? No clue who she is... AMANDA [Cont., fully to Giana; Panel 5]: Maybe a Professor of yours? GIANA [Off-Panel; Panel 5]: No, she... Panel 6-7: Cut to Giana a few moments later in Panel 6. She scratches just underneath Feli9's pseudo-realistic feline chin, looking over at Amanda as she speaks. Though her mind is occupied somewhat by the name, thinking back in the moment. In Panel 7, her gaze is moved quickly up at the sound of a door to the room they were in opening back up. GIANA [Cont., to Amanda; Panel 6]: It's a name that came up when I was researching the Pegasus online. GIANA [Cont.; Panel 7]: I didn't click on the link since it was in Congress, and I figured it was just some political grandstanding BS. But now... SOUND EFFECT [Off-Panel; Panel 7]: PWUHHCHREEK!
