Ghede: Guerrier Extraordinaire #1: Pages 11-12
Page 11, 6 Panels- Next to Tone River, Tokyo, Japan Panel 1: Profile shot of Ghede a few moments later. She looks over at her unseen supernatural compatriot and flashes a slightly disbelieving smile. You can see over Ghede's left shoulder in the background the back of the aforementioned big rig truck as it reappears, motoring back down the street to its intended destination. GHEDE: MemScrap...nice! Didn't know ya had one. BRIGID [Off-Panel]: Picked one up from a couple friends of mine back in Norway. Panel 2: Cut to an action shot of Brigid a moment later. She gives off a simple, playful shrug. She continues her walk forward toward her unseen friend. Her left hand disappearing to her off-stage side as she speaks. BRIGID: They provided a nice cover while also helping to lay out the setting for the task at hand. Panel 3: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. The Gaelic goddess raises her hand up from her side, revealing a set of yellow-blue sparkles coming from out of her fingertips which gently float to the sky as she speaks. BRIGID [Cont.]: And now we come to the unfortunate bastard who got caught up in Kagu's quest. Panel 4-5: A two-part set of panels which serves as a transition from one setting to the next. In Panel 4, we see another portal open up at the end of the street our two supernatural warriors are walking along. In Panel 5, a few moments later, our two protagonists are seen stepping on through into the new area. The first sight of which gives the impression that we are in some type of office space. Panel 6: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. As the portal that got them there starts to close in on itself, Ghede and Brigid take a look around at the scene. We see a little more of the general setting that was hinted at in Panel 5, including a beautifully made oak desk as well as a few paintings hanging on the wall above them. Page 12, 6 Panels- Office of Kazuo Ozawa, Akasaka District, Mid-Morning Panel 1: Action shot once more of our two supernatural heroines observing the scene. The elegance of the office in play, including what appears to be a framed photograph on the edge of the desk. You can see the portal closing behind them as they search. Panel 2: Close-up on Ghede (on the left side) and Brigid on the right side)'s face a second later. The sight of the ceiling fan and the dark green wallpaper in the background, along with the glow of the sun hitting the two of them from the unseen window. GHEDE [sniffing]: Cigars...piss-poor whiskey from the States. Crappy cologne... Panel 3: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. They stop at a particular point in the office where we see the bookcase in the background and the neatly lined dark black and brown spines of the book laid out on each shelf. The voodoo specter turns her head 180 degrees toward her Gaelic friend. GHEDE [to Brigid; perturbed]: You gotta be kidding me? Him?! BRIGID [to Ghede; slightly conciliatory]: I know you and Mr. Ozawa have been at loggerheads since you found out he was buddies with Papa Doc Duvalier... Panel 4: Cut to the front door of the office where we see the first in-person appearance of KAZUO OZAWA in a trademark gray business suit. He's a man in his mid-to-late 50s with a thin, white crop of hair on his head. He's in relatively good health with an air about him that "Titans of Industry" hold (which, simultaneously, can also be viewed as extreme arrogance). BRIGID [Cont., Off-Panel]: But he's the innocent party here. Panel 5: Back to Ghede and Brigid in a layout very similar to what we saw in Panel 3. Ghede turns her head back out in front of her. A growl coming out of her lips as she hears the explanation from her friend. You can faintly hear the steps from Mr. Ozawa's brown wingtips clacking on the carpeted floor. BRIGID [to Ghede]: Which means, like it or not...we gotta bail his ass out! GHEDE [looking off to the left]: Yeah, yeah... Panel 6: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. They take a step back toward the front of the desk, watching as the elder CEO passes by them on his way to the high-end brown leather chair behind the desk in the background. GHEDE [to Brigid, with a touch of contempt]: So how'd the soulless little meat puppet get in league with the son of Izanagi?
