Ghede: Guerrier Extraordinaire #1: Pages 15-16
Page 15, 6 Panels- Touissant Louverture International Airport Panel 1: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. The woman, Ms. Massiel, turns in the direction of the unseen checkout woman. You can see parts of the small line of people in front of her who will soon become their fellow passengers on-board this airplane. You can also see Ghede's shadow now fully slipping into the host body. GHEDE [Cont., Off-Panel]: Stabby vibe! Panel 2: We move to a few moments later. The layout widens slightly to take in the full line right up to the young dark-skinned flight attendant standing at the end of it. All we see of the others are the backs of them, which hold the same type of varied look that we saw in the previous page. All is normal in appearance at this point. Panel 3: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. The line shortens up by a third. We see the woman that Ghede has inhabited turn her head up and slightly to the left. You can see a little glint of silver in what is normally the human woman's green eyes as she looks. Panel 4: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. As the line becomes ever more shorter, you can see a pained grimace come over her face. Her head turning back toward the line. The others, meanwhile, barely pay any attention to who they view as Ms. Massiel at this point. GHEDE [Off-Panel]: Ignore the bigoted shit...ignore the bigoted shit... Panel 5: Cut to a shot of Chloé/Ghede in line a second later, particularly her face and shoulders. The pained look now stepped up to one of elevated aggravation, right on the edge of anger. You can see in the background the face of an older rotund Dominican man in the back, lustily checking out the ass of the younger woman. GHEDE [Off-Panel]: I know you want to punch her lights out, and the lights of the pervy bastard behind you right now...There's business to attend to... Panel 6: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. As the line in front of her shortens to the point that she is almost next, Chloé/Ghede begins to get control of her senses once again. Though the pain and struggle that was evident in the previous panel still shows up in her face and her silver-glinted eyes. GHEDE [Cont., Off-Panel]: I'll handle them later! FLIGHT ATTENDANT [Off-Panel; translated from Dominican]: Miss... Page 16, 5 Panels- Air Tokyo Terminal, Touissant Louverture International Airport Panel 1-2: Panel 1 follows the same setting/layout as the last panel of the previous page. Ghede snaps out of her own inner monologue regarding her human host's thoughts, and returns to the here and now somewhat. And in Panel 2, we see a side shot encompassing both Chloé/Ghede and the young Flight Attendant. Her arm extended outward to a measure with her palm pointing upward. FLIGHT ATTENDANT [Off-Panel]: Miss?... FLIGHT ATTENDANT [Cont., Panel 2]: Ticket, please? GHEDE [Panel 2; apologetic, translated from Haitian Creole]: Oh, sorry... Panel 3: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. We see Chloé/Ghede reaching into the pocket of her coat and pulling out the aforementioned plane ticket. As she does, however, the flight attendant raises a curious eyebrow at the strange change in language used by the woman she believes in Chloé Maissel. GHEDE [Cont., pulling the ticket out from within her coat]: Had a late night! FLIGHT ATTENDANT [suspicious]: Right... Panel 4: A spilt second later, slight close-up on the Flight Attendant. Her hand holding the top edge of the ticket, while her opposite hand slides underneath the podium that serves as her work station. She's still maintaining her suspicious attitude, albeit without the upright eyebrow. There's almost a sense in her body language that she is preparing for some type of confrontation coming (at least in her mind anyhow). Panel 5: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. The Attendant opens up the ticket and examines the contents carefully. Though the crux of her statement is still directed at Chloé/Ghede, with all of its distrust and stewing anger that was hinted upon in the previous panel. FLIGHT ATTENDANT: May I see your ID again, Miss?
