Time Lady of L.A. #12: Pages 25-26
Page 25, 1 Panel- Giana's Subconscious Panel 1: A full-page panel with a background that is a blend of black and a pink that is closest color-wise to the human brain. There's a set of waves rising from the bottom of the panel that breaks up the page into six separate mini-panels. Each one showing something from the future, though no idea as to when or where they're coming from. MINI-PANEL 1 [upper left corner of the page]: It shows a beautiful sunny day with people holding banners in Egyptian Arabic demanding the ouster of the Eyes of Mubarak (E.o.M.) and Mubarak himself. MINI-PANEL 2 [upper center of the page, next to Mini-Panel 1]: We move to a different area where we see more people stretches out far into the street chanting "Free Tahrir!" They appear to be marching somewhere, though it's not clear where. MINI-PANEL 3 [upper right of the page, next to Mini-Panel 2]: In an office somewhere, we see W in a similar looking suit to the one that we saw him in a few pages back. He's talking to someone who has entered at the same moment. MINI-PANEL 4 [center of the page, below Mini-Panel 2]: In the same setting, a time later, W is seen standing in front of his desk. He's shaking the hand of a man who's younger than he is and who also bears a striking resemblance to one of the Martells. MINI-PANEL 5 [lower left edge of the page, below Mini-Panel 1]: We move to a large explosion located somewhere in the middle of Tahrir Square. A large fireball in the center of the area, leaving everyone else in the general area to run to safety. MINI-PANEL 6 [bottom center of the page, below Mini-Panel 2]: In another part of the massive demonstration, we see another fireball emerge from the ground, killing more people and sending others fleeing. VOICE [Off-Panel, in the center of the page]: "Mona...Mona!..." Page 26, 7 Panels- Giana's Subconscious/Secret Free Tahrir Safehouse, 1985 Cairo Egypt Panel 1-3: A three-part set of panels which slowly shows the transition between the black/brain pink colored background that was evident in the previous page back to the real world by the time we reach Panel 3. It's in that panel that we see Amanda propping her friend up on the wall just as she begins to wake back up again. VOICE [Cont., Off-Panel; Panel 1]: "Moooo...G?....G!..." AMANDA [through foggy scene, to Giana; Panel 2]: Giana, wake up! C'mon... GIANA [woozy; Panel 2]: Mmgrroa.... AMANDA [Cont., despondent and shaking her head, to herself; Panel 3]: We never should have taken this trip. This has gotten too nuts! GIANA [coherent; Panel 3, Bubble 1]: Mandy... AMANDA [Cont. with a sigh; Panel 3, Bubble 2]: There's something thoroughly wrong with you. We've gotta take care of...whatever the fuck's going on before-- GIANA [with a little more force; Panel 3, Bubble 2]: MANDY! Panel 4: Cut to a close-up of Giana's face a couple of seconds later. At this point, we see her face starting to regain its former spark. She shoots a look of calm and acceptance of the situation toward her friend as this goes down. Her arm pressing down on the ground underneath her slightly. GIANA [Cont., to Amanda]: There's something...far bigger than anything going on in my head. Panel 5: Back to Amanda a moment later. You can see her start to move her arm and the rest of the body toward the right, preparing to lift her friend Giana slowly back up to her feet. The opposite side of the doorway is visible behind her in the background. She flashes Ms. Franklin a look of disbelief at the statement as all of this movement is going on. AMANDA [scoffs; to Giana]: Yeah, no shit! My friend blacks out for an hour and a half. And in that time, three explosions rip the center of the city (caused by who the hell knows)... Panel 6-7: Cut back to Giana a few moments later, interjecting in between Amanda's statement with her own thought on the situation. In Panel 6, we see her body in movement as her friend gets her back to her feet. A movement that stops in the next panel as the second half of her friend's statement officially sinks into Giana's head. GIANA [interjecting; Panel 6]: I saw...I think something from the future. Maybe something about... GIANA [Cont., to Amanda with a degree of surprise/fear; Panel 7]: Explosion? END OF ISSUE 12
