Time Lady of L.A. #13: Intro Page

Intro Page, 6 Panels- S.S. Martha Jones Panel 1-4: A four-part set of panels centered in Deeliah and Montoya's bedroom onboard the Martha Jones flying somewhere in space. We see Deeliah on the edge of the bed, wearing a comfy t-shirt made from the same mesh as body armor. Her trademark orange vest worn over top of it, bulging with stuff at its pockets that is hard to determine. She's reading a copy of 15th Affair by James Patterson as the room hums with "Is She With You?" from the Batman v. Superman soundtrack. With each panel, her mood steadily descends from anticipation to one of mild disappointment by the time we reach Panel 4. DEELIAH MCFLY [as she reads; Panel 1]: Wow, this is... DEELIAH MCFLY [Cont.; Panel 2]: Huh! Maybe it's...nope this is really--really bad. DEELIAH MCFLY [Cont.; Panel 3]: I was hoping there'd be more women murdering people! DEELIAH MCFLY [closes the book, resting it on her lap briefly and looking toward the stereo around the right side; Panel 4]: At least the song was awesome. Panel 5-6: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. She looks up from the book to notice the reader looking back at her. Her mind imemdiately shifting back to the business at hand, flashing a grin. In Panel 6, Deeliah throws the book behind her back and gets to business, standing up off the edge of the bed. DEELIAH MCFLY [to the audience; Panel 5]: Oh, hi! Almost forgot you were stopping by. I was just passing time with this fairly milquetoast book on our way to this really shiny rock festival on Twileus. Three rotations of base-thumping, body-shaking, spirit-enlivening music under kaleidoscopic clouds with hundreds of thousands of other souls...what a time it will be! And this... DEELIAH MCFLY [Cont.; Panel 6, Bubble 1]: Will make, I imagine, a nice meal for any Wohklis' coming by. DEELIAH MCFLY [Bubble 2]: Anyway...that isn't why you're here. You're here to find out what the Time Lady of 21st century L.A. is up to. The last we left our heroines, she had just collapsed at the safe house in 1985 Cairo, Egypt with visions of a pretty bad future. Well, as bad as the one they'd gotten themselves schlepped into. One involving protests and rioting and a lot of big booms. DEELIAH MCFLY [Cont., Bubble 3]: As much as I'd love to help them get out of this, I think they can handle it themselves.
