Ghede: Guerrier Extraordinaire #2: Pages 1-2
Page 1, 6 Panels- Mr. Ozawa's Mansion, Northern Tokyo, January 21, 2015 Panel 1: Profile shot of the regal mansion of Mr. Kazuo Ozawa later that day, protected behind a high and fairly imposing metal fence. The exterior is tri-tiered with a roof that looks as if it was built in the 12th century and a beautiful yard and garden in front of the driveway. You can see the Rolls just beginning to pull into it at this point. CAPTION: "Welcome to Ozawa Manor, Ms. Ghede. Do you mind if we speak English for the duration of this conversation?" Panel 2: Slight close-up toward the front entrance to the mansion a short time later. The edges of the panel show a little more of the gardening and beautiful flora in closer view. Ghede and the Driver walk side-by-side with one another in silence, checking out the scenery as they approach the unseen door. CAPTION: "The privacy filters Messr. Ozawa installed on the premises to deal with corporate espionage are most effective when English is spoken." GHEDE [Off-Panel, chuckling]: Alright, that's fine Mace. Panel 3: Cut to an interior shot of Ghede in the present. She's standing behind the bar, taking a look at the alcohol on display. An impressively high amount that stretches high up to the ceiling off-panel. GHEDE: At this point, all I wanna hear is Kazzy tell me about his dealings with Kagu-Tsuchi so I can stop him before he gets offed and be back home by the next evening... Panel 4: We move to a proper profile shot of Mace standing in front of the back of the couch. A tall, rail-thin man with green eyes and a very thin layer of dark hair on his egg-shaped head. There are little bits in the background showing the familiar kinds of furniture one would find in a typical living room in Japan. You can also see the doorway and the tile welcome area in front of the mansion's front door. MACE: I'm afraid that will be a tough request for me to comply with, your...darkly magnificence. Panel 5: Back to Ghede at the bar a moment later. She turns back around, holding a more than three-quarters full bottle of awamori in her left hand and a glass in the other one. She raises a curious eyebrow to the statement from the worker. GHEDE: Ms. Ghede's fine; I prefer to stay away from pretentious airs as much as possible. Panel 6: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. The Guerrier places the crystal glass down on the counter to her right, equidistant from the bottle of awamori resting on the left side. She leans forward toward Mace to emphasize her statement. GHEDE [Cont.]: Now, why the hells can't I speak to the guy?! Page 2, 7 Panels- Parlor Room, Mr. Ozawa's Mansion Panel 1: Back to Mace a second later. He's still standing in the same position behind the high arching brown leather couch that is seen in the background. His demeanor showing a stoic poker face, which stands in contrast to Ghede's brief moment of fire in the previous panel. MACE: Because...he is currently in a coma. Panel 2: Ghede's curious eyebrow quickly fades, as does her grip on the glass which still rests on the counter top next to her. Her other hand gently touches the base of the alcohol bottle as well as the hardwood. GHEDE: What?! When did that happen? MACE [Off-Panel]: A few hours ago... Panel 3: Mace's calm demeanor goes down slightly a moment later. His hands going from behind his back over to his side, addressing the Haitian guerrier as he walks across the side of the couch. His stoicism cracking slightly to show the slightest edge of worry. MACE: I had just sent the Driver to retrieve you. I was about to wake Mr. Ozawa from his usual power nap when I discovered his unconscious body. Panel 4: Ghede flashes a glint of frustration at the butler's statement. You can see her body phasing through the base of the bar. Her left hand gripping the bottle of awamori behind her as she goes. GHEDE: Why didn't you get him to a hospital? Panel 5: Cut to Mace with his arms down at his side. He glances over in the direction of Ghede who now appears somewhat around the right side of the panel view just as she's finished phasing through the bar. MACE: As you're well aware of, Messr. Ozawa has anxiety over anyone outside of family or staff to see him at anything but his strongest. Panel 6: Ghede groans at the explanation, familiar with the context behind it. Her body language calming down somewhat as a result of it. You can see her body has completely phased through the hardwood piece of furniture. GHEDE [muttering to herself]: Of course... Panel 7: Same setting as the previous panel. The lone change in terms of the layout is the fact that our Guerrier herione has completely faded out of view, leaving the booze bottle and the glass in the center of the shot. You can see Ghede's arm stretching back into view toward the awamori, grabbing it. GHEDE [Cont., muttering Off-Panel]: Definitely gonna need this!
