Time Lady of L.A. #13: Pages 11-12

Page 11, 6 Panels- E.o.M. Watchtower, 1985 Cairo Egypt Panel 1: Cut to a shot of M moments later. They take a step back away from the desk, looking down at the front edge of the desk. Though the face remains concealed by the helmet's visor, you can sense the statement has hit very close to home for M. In the background, you can see one of the staff members in the Watchtower looking over at M with a mixture of concern and curiosity. M [through the robotic filter that translates to Egyptian Arabic]: "Two American girls...?" Panel 2: Back to Analyst #2 at his desk who still has the big headphones on his ears. The layout of the panel similar to what we saw in the last panel of the previous page, including the radar screen he's been observing. The only difference being that we see him turn his head slightly toward his superior in order to speak his piece. ANALYST #2 [to M; translated from Egyptian Arabic]: Yeah...that is definitely what they said. It could be some type of code or... M [interjecting, Off-Panel]: Arlen!... Panel 3-4: Cut to an action shot of M in the same setting and layout that we saw in the last panel of the previous page, making her way out of the room and leaving the Analyst to speak to nothing. The handful of other underlings in the Watchtower who happen to be standing in the same general area of M stand in fearful attention as they pass by. In Panel 4, we see a close-up on the Amazon-sized stoic warrior in armor as they move toward the other end of the command room a minute later. M [Cont.; Panel 3]: Bring me the crime reports for Cairo from four days ago... M [Cont.; Panel 4]: Around 2000-2100, to be precise. Panel 5: We move back to Arlen who can be seen standing to the side of the door, observing as M comes toward him. The assistant to the head of the Watchtower, Arlen is a wiry young man of auburn skin dressed in a uniorm that is slightly more formal and respectable than the others in the organization. A native citizen of the city who had enough connections and finances to be able to study in the West. ARLEN [to M, curious; in perfect English]: Any person you want me to focus on? Panel 6: Cut to M a beat later. The layout framed in such a way that we're seeing the action coming at us from within the doorway to the command center. With the limited scope of action from inside visible in the background, we see the armored commander and their far shorter assistant (standing to the left of the doorway) start to walk out. You can also see part of the walls to the hallway outside around the two corners of the panel. M [through the robotic filter translated to English]: Just one... Page 12, 6 Panels- Secret Free Tahrir Safehouse, 1985 Cairo Egypt Panel 1: We shift back to the bedroom of the safehouse where we last left Giana and Amanda in the previous issue. Giana is sitting on her bed, typing away on the Doc with Feli9 sitting next to her and looking out toward the window. Amanda, meanwhile, leans against the wall looking over in Giana's direction. M [Cont., Off-Panel]: Giana Franklin! AMANDA [to Giana, skeptical]: And you think you can tap into one of their radio signals using the Doc? All without WiFi or 4G... Panel 2: Close-up on Amanda's face and position at the wall. She leans off the wall and takes a single step in the direction of her friend. Her left hand slips into the corresponding pocket of her jeans, with her right one sliding down the corresponding side of her shirt and waist. AMANDA [Cont.]: This feels like one of "good in your head" ideas that explodes in a ball of fire! Panel 3-4: Back to Giana sitting at the bed. She looks over in the direction of her friend, flashing a degree of a smirk toward Amanda as she walks toward her. At this point, you can see Feli9 turn her metal frame around and start to walk up toward the top of the bed by the time we reach Panel 4. Also in Panel 4, we see Giana return to typing with Amanda stopping a few feet away. Her body appearing around the right corner of the panel view. GIANA [slight chuckle, to Amanda; Panel 3]: We'll be fine, Mandy! Most of the apps run without any type of internet network. GIANA [Cont.; Panel 4]: All I need is an "in"...and probably a little good luck too! Panel 5-6: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. A minute has passed by as the two friends wait for any type of new development to come between both of them. At this point, Feli9 has strolled out of shot over toward the bed. The general majority of the tension between the two human heroines lies solely with Amanda. In Panel 6, moments later, there is success which subsequently breaks up the tension of the previous panel. AMANDA [to Giana; Panel 5, Bubble 1]: Should I ask how that's possible or...? GIANA [muttering to herself; Panel 5]: C'mon, c'mon, c'mon... AMANDA [Panel 5, Bubble 2]: Right! FREE TAHRIR REBEL [from the Doc Brown speaker; Panel 6]: 25 qatilaan fi kurnish alnnayl... GIANA [excited squeal; Panel 6]: YES!
