Ghede: Guerrier Extraordinaire #2: Pages 17-18
Page 17, 5 Panels- In-Between
Panel 1: Cut to a full profile standing shot of the creature itself, an Asian black bear. It looks very similar to the ones we see on Earth, though with one big difference- its size. This creature is taller than the regular black bear, and far more muscular. You can see its mouth opening slightly, showing their fangs as well as a little bit of drool.
Panel 2: Back to Ghede five feet in front of the creature. She places her right hand slowly on the bottom of the Molltach handle, carefully observing the bear as she otherwise remains still in her movements.
GHEDE [translated from Haitian Creole; respectful]: Okay...I think I've seen one of these Earth creatures before- the Pote. Lovely...
Panel 3: Same setting as the previous panel. The layout has zoomed in slightly toward Ghede's face a second later. You can see few, if any, drops of sweat going down her face as she waits for the bear's next response.
GHEDE [Cont., to the Bear]: I mean you no harm, Pote. If you let me pass, you have my word no harm will come to you.
Panel 4: Cut to the Bear a couple of seconds later. From its observational, standing position that we saw in the first panel, it has now suddenly gone into a full attack mode. Its arms stretched out to both sides with claws unfurled, and fangs out in full display as a result of a powerful growl.
Panel 5: Back to Ghede in a similar setting and layout that we saw in Panel 2. She's now fully immersed in a defensive position. The sword out in front of her ready to take on the Bear. The roar that was evident in the previous panel echoes through the top of the panel view.
GHEDE: Four minutes...a new record!
Page 18, 6 Panels- In-Between
Panel 1: Shot placed from the ground level of the aforementioned Bear, split in two images which give off the display of it charging toward the reader. The first one shows the animal tumbling down to its hind legs, and the second one shows him running full-speed toward the off-panel Ghede.
Panel 2: Cut to the aforementioned Ghede seconds later. The Molltach can be seen somewhat in front of her in the same type of defensive position she had it in the last page. You can hear the gallops from the bear in the background which have the same auditory "CLANK!" of a hunk of metal.
GHEDE [translated from Haitian Creole; slightly concerned]: Quicker than I remembered!
Panel 3: Action shot moments later of the Haitian guerrier leaping overtop the hard charging in an elegantly beautiful and awesome gymnastic flip. You can see her, as this all goes down, make a downward motion with her blade towards the animal's back.
Panel 4-5: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. Her body follows the same downward trajectory that we saw in the previous panel from Ghede. She lets out a quick, yet powerful shriek in anticipation to the coming slash. The Bear, however, at this point has started to leap off the ground to defend itself. In Panel 5, the Bear's razor-sharp claws connect with Ghede's Molltach taking the Voodoo specter by surprise.
Panel 6: Action shot a split second after the action of Panel 5 of Ghede getting shot backward fifteen feet in the direction of a set of trees. Some of which can be seen uprooted from the ground as a result of an almost invisible, yet powerful shockwave that forms from the two combatants. You can also see the Molltach landing hard a few feet next to her.
