Ghede: Guerrier Extraordinaire #2: Pages 19-20

Page 19, 7 Panels- In-Between Panel 1: Close-up shot of Ghede a few long moments later as she gets back up to her feet. A little section of the forested area in profile behind her, along with a few beams of sunlight for effect. You can see her left arm stretch out to grab the Molltach still lying on the ground off-panel. GHEDE [wiping bottom of her mouth with her right hand, to the Bear; translated from Haitian Creole]: Increased intelligence...should've known! Panel 2: Action shot of the Haitian guerrier moments later as she charges, with both hands on the sword's handle, toward the oncoming Bear. The layout is pulled back compared to the previous panel so we can see the aforementioned animal as it comes toward her with claws unfurled and gleaming. GHEDE [Cont.]: I'd be considerably more chuffed if I could actually bleed. Panel 3-4: Same setting as the previous panel. The layout changes toward a more traditional head-to-head setup with the Bear (on the left side of the panel view) and the Voodoo specter (on the right side of the panel view) raise their mighty weapons into the air to strike at each other. In Panel 4, they crash into one another, leveling the same kind of clang as before. GHEDE [Cont.]: Or I didn't want one of you lovely Potes as a pet! Panel 5-7: A three-part set of panels that showcases what is essentially a mighty swordfight. One that is surprisingly even between Ghede's beautiful blade and the Bear's power and tough, equally metal-sounding claws with exception to the occasional blow each one receives in Panels 6 and 7. You can see the slight shift in scenery both ways with each preceding thrust and parry from both competitors as the set goes on. Page 20, 6 Panels- In-Between Panel 1: Minutes pass by as quickly as beads of sand in the hourglass. With the sight of a high-reaching Huicungo tree appearing around the left side of the panel view, Ghede can be seen high in the air read to plunge the blade into the Bear's shoulder. You can see the Bear just in the first inkling of dodging the blade, grabbing the base of the tree behind her. Panel 2: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. It's an action shot seconds later of the Bear delivering a spinning roundhouse kick underneath the jaw of the Haitian guerrier. Her claws wrapped around the base of the tree behind her. Panel 3: Cut to an action shot moments later showing Ghede tumbling down to the ground as a result of the kick. You can see an array of trees and fallen leaves and grasswork in the background, illuminated by rays of sunlight peaking from the sky. Panel 4-5: A two-part set of panels placed closer to ground level, showing the last parts of Ghede's tumble downward. In Panel 4, we see her body falling down in front of a lovely, young palmito tree. The blade of the Molltach plunged down into the ground. And in Panel 5, just before our titular heroine lands with a thud, she grabs the sword handle with her left hand, letting out a quick "AHH!" as she does. Panel 6: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. We see the Voodoo specter sitting on the very top of the Molltach handle in a cat's position. She looks forward in the panel view at the unseen Bear who is set to charge at her once again, breathing slightly harder than normal. Though with the same kind of proud grin over the right half of her face. GHEDE [translated from Haitian Creole; to Bear]: It's been fun as hell, Pote. But now...time to end this!
