Time Lady of L.A. #13: Pages 23-24

Page 23, 7 Panels- Street, 1985 Cairo Egypt Panel 1-3: A three-part set of panels centered on Mona (seated in the right side driver's seat) and Giana (seated in the left side passenger seat). They share a warm, shared laugh between each other that rises in Panel 1, peaks in Panel 2 and descends by the time we reach Panel 3. As for the layout of the background, we see the car continuing on the road to its destination. The cityscape on both sides changing with each panel as we draw closer to the later hours of the night. AMANDA [Off-Panel, to Mona and Giana; Panel 3]: I don't mean to disrupt this really sweet...moment here, guys. But there's still a whole mountain of crap we have to deal with. Panel 4: We move to a shot of Amanda in the backseat of the car. She looks over in the direction of the two heroines in the front seat, leaning forward in a similar fashion to what we saw when she spoke in the previous page. Though not as prominent as before. In terms of the background, through the rear window, you can see the rear of the same cityscape along with a car moving to the left to pass them. AMANDA [Cont.]: Namely, what the hell are we gonna do about the creep Eyes and ye olde Murder Drone? Panel 5: Cut to a frontal shot from the windshield looking in of Mona a second after Amanda's question. Her smile fades and she immediately starts to go to thinking about the appropriate answer. Her back straightening out slightly from the lower area upward. You can see a little sliver of the illuminated road outside to the side of her via the driver's side window. MONA: Right, right...we know about the Ifrit's big reveal in the morning thanks to our buddies in Intelligence. We know, obviously, they want to wipe us off the map. The easy move here would be to break in and dismantle it bolt by bolt... Panel 6-7: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. A few beats later, Mona glances up slightly toward the sky with a sigh. Her mind still thinking in a ponderous fashion that we saw in the previous panel, letting out a sigh upon realizing a hole in the plan. After a little more ponderous thought, in Panel 7, we see Mona come to a great realization. MONA [Cont., shaking her head; Panel 6]: But that'd be nuts! Even if we got inside, they'd still blow us to bits, or lock us in chains. I can't do that to the movement...to Egypt herself! MONA [Panel 6, Bubble 2]: No, it has to be something that they'd never expect, covert. Something they'd never see... MONA [Cont., with a grin; Panel 7]: ...coming! Page 24, 8 Panels- Street, 1985 Cairo Egypt Panel 1-4: A four-part set of panels that are centered primarily on Giana in the passenger side seat, reacting to Mona's thought process. The window showing, in each panel, a little section of the city as it turns to the left (Panel 2) and straightens out on the lane closest to the sidewalk (Panels 3-4). Amanda pops into view over her shoulder for three of the four panels before fading back to her seat by the end of the series. All taking place within a couple of minutes of time. AMANDA [knows what's going on, whispering to Giana; Panel 1]: Ohh... GIANA [interjecting, with an equally knowing nod, whispering to Amanda; Panel 1]: Yeah... GIANA [Cont., with a bit of excitement over something confirmed; Panel 2]: That...definitely answers that question. Albeit leaving sooo many more I wanna ask! AMANDA [agreeing, with a touch of caution; Panel 2]: Like, was she always this badass? GIANA [amazed; Panel 3]: I knew she took fencing and self-defense classes at this point. But...nothing like this. MONA [Off-Panel, to Giana; Panel 4]: What does it look like? Panel 5: Cut to a shot of Mona at the wheel, looking out intently at the road in front of her. The scenery visible from the driver's side window behind her as well as the small portion of the front windshield to her right moving from left to right as always, although not as fast as before, signifying another stop coming. MONA [Cont., to Giana]: Your "time machine," I mean? Panel 6-8: A three-part set of panels centered back on Giana in her passenger's side seat. The sight of Amanda in the backseat now completely off-panel at this point. In Panel 6, she glances down at the backpack laying at her feet. Her right hand moving off from her lap and down in that direction, gently touching Feli9's back and irritating the robotic feline slightly. In Panel 7, Giana glances over in Mona's direction as she grabs the handle of the backpack and brings it up to her knee by Panel 8. GIANA [unsure; Panel 6]: It's a black rectangle. Really thin in terms of depth... GIANA [Cont., Panel 7]: It sort of looks like a clipboard, but without the whole metal clip thing. GIANA [Cont., to Mona; Panel 8]: Why do you ask? MONA [Off-Panel, to Giana; Panel 8]: You were talking about The Terminator earlier...
