Ghede: Guerrier Extraordinaire #3: Pages 1-2

Page 1, 6 Panels- Avain's Dhom, the In-Between Panel 1: We move to the same setting that we ended the previous issue on, with Avain at the entrance to his ship. The layout has changed, moving to the side as Ghede slowly walks up (she's just below halfway up at this point) the wooden drawbridge up onboard. You can see bits and pieces of the beautiful forests and skies that make up the scenery. AVAIN [to Ghede, eyebrow raised; translated from French]: So...what type of strangeness are we gonna get involved in this time? GHEDE [to Avain, translated from French]: Ah, the usual Avi-- Panel 2: Cut to a close-up shot of the Haitian guerrier a second later as she crosses the midway part of the drawbridge. She slips the Molltach into a holster placed on her side as she walks. The beach that was the sight of the chaotic battle in the last pages of the previous issue can be seen partially in the background. GHEDE [Cont., casually]: Pissed off water god with daddy issues. A rich human used as a hostage who was stupid enough to think he could outwit it. Panel 3: We move to the top of the drawbridge a few moments later as Ghede (the back of her, in terms of the panel view) finally approaches the top of it. Avain reaches out and leans against the side of the ship for a moment, giving her Voodoo compatriot room to come onboard. AVAIN [to Ghede, wittily]: Let me guess--the guy was hoping for total global domination. GHEDE [shrugs]: Maybe... Panel 4: Slight close-up on Ghede just as she's passed by her friend and formally stepped onboard the Dhom. Her casual demeanor still on display as she continues speaking. You can see more of the land and Amazon-inspired forested scenery from a distance in the background. GHEDE [Cont.]: My bet's on immortality; makes a bit more sense, given the human involved. Panel 5: Back to Avain looking over in Ghede's direction. His position still in the same place near the front entrance of the boat. He begins to bend down at the same time to bring the drawbridge back onboard before taking off. AVAIN [intrigued]: Oh, you know the human we're tracking? That's definitely new. GHEDE [Off-Panel, mildly chuckling]: Yeah, Kazuo Ozawa. I wouldn't say 'know' though... Panel 6: Back to Ghede near the front of the boat. She leans over to the side of the boat with her right hand, looking back in Avain's direction. The demeanor of our titular heroine has, at this point, returned to a stoic and slightly more annoyed set of body language You can see the beautiful river and the land it splits on both sides in the background as she speaks. GHEDE [Cont.]: ...As much as desired to skewer like a suckling pig! Page 2, 5 Panels- Avain's Dhom, the In-Between Panel 1: Cut back to Avain a second later with a look of dismissal on his face. He glances over in Ghede's direction as he grabs a firm hold of both sides of the drawbridge and starts to pull it back onboard the ship. AVAIN [translated from French]: And how is that different from most people you deal with, myself notwithstanding? Panel 2-3: A two-part set of panels focused squarely on Ghede. Our titular heroine looks out in the distance in Panel 2 with a degree of sadness and melancholy as she squeezes the base of the dark brown wooden railing, channeling the set of pain. In Panel 3, we see the Voodoo specter holding back the urge to blow up right then and there. GHEDE [translated from French, Panel 2; snarling]: I'd rather not talk about it... GHEDE [Cont., Panel 3]: Focus on the mission at hand! Panel 4: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. Ghede lets go of the railing after an additional few moments of time elapse. All the while still looking out at the sea in silent contemplation at the past which go on unseen in her head. You can see the little part of the railing where she held on to is crumpled as if it were nothing. AVAIN [Off-Panel]: Alright...I've known you long enough to know when to let things go, spectses! Panel 5: Cut back to Avain a few moments later, showing up on the left side of the panel view next to the flat wooden drawbridge. You can see that he has a full handle on it, lifting it from the ground with a minimal amount of effort. AVAIN: So, where is Monseiur O?
