Time Lady of L.A. #14: Pages 9-10
Page 9, 7 Panels- El Haram, 1981 Cairo Egypt Panel 1-3: A three-part set of panels centered on a section of Sherif Basha, taken from a skyward perspective looking down. It's roughly the same early morning time that was in place back in the previous page. Next to the El Haram store, slowly but surely with each panel, a blue energy ball where our heroines have traveled starts to come into view. There are little dots representing cars moving from south to north, and vice versa, in the panel view. You can also see what appears to be people on the sidewalk of various kinds on the sidewalk, along with what appears to be a mural of President Sadat on the building near the top left corner of the panel view. CAPTION [Panel 3]: El Haram, Sherif Basha- October 7th, 1981 Panel 4: Close-up on the section of open sidewalk where our heroines landed that we saw in the previous panel. The energy quickly dissipates on all sides, fading off into the ether. Giana and Amanda look around at the scenery, getting their bearings straightened out. Mona's also doing the same thing, though with less efficacy as her head starts spinning. You can see the front of some cars native to the era passing them by as they speak. AMANDA [remarking, to Giana]: This looks like the right place. GIANA [nodding toward the car as it passes by, to Amanda]: Yeah. Right time too, judging by the presence of station wagons and old Oldsmobiles. Panel 5-6: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. Giana turns her attention back toward the Doc Brown (the photo of William Felton visible underneath it), checking out the coordinates as typed up into the Pegasus. Amanda, meanwhile, turns her attention, along with Feli9 who has been standing on the dark spot in the concrete, toward Mona who has finally succumbed to the motion sickness from the trip back in time. Her periphery looking back toward her friend with a degree of surprise. In Panel 6, the setting/layout as well as the placement of the characters hold as we hear Mona puke into a nearby trash can. Amanda's gaze shifting over to her watch to check things out. GIANA [Cont., to Amanda; Panel 5, Bubble 1]: What! My dad was a big car guy, used to take me to auto shows and classic car expos. I just dug the intricacies of the engine! GIANA [Panel 5, Bubble 2]: Anyway, let's find this W guy before... MONA [Off-Panel, sound effect; Panel 6]: HUUWHAARRFF! Panel 7: Slight close-up on Giana and Amanda a few moments later. The "HUUWHAARRFF!" has stretched from the previous panel to this one, reaching its ending just as the ladies are speaking. Amanda looks on at the scene taking place and flashes a playful half-grin, looking at her friend via periphery. Giana, meanwhile, has looked back from her tablet to take in everything taking place and chuckles. AMANDA [snarky, whispering to Giana]: 60 seconds...new record! GIANA [chuckling, whispering to Amanda]: I was hoping she'd have hit 2 minutes...family bias, I guess! Page 10, 5 Panels- El Haram, 1981 Cairo Egypt Page 1: Cut to a close-up on Giana a few moments later. She takes a step forward from where she stood, yelling out in Mona's direction in front of them. The sounds of the city can be slightly heard in the background, along with a little section of the store's front window display. GIANA [to Mona]: Got it all out, Mona? Panel 2: Cut to the trash can a handful of steps away from Giana and Amanda's conversation in the previous page. We see Mona lift her head out of the bucket, holding on to the rim with her free hand, and look in the direction of our two future heroines. Her eyes still woozy, along with the rest of the body. Though in a slightly better position in terms of her equilibrium than we saw her last back in Page 9. MONA [woozy, letting out a groan; to Giana]: I really hope so! Please tell me this isn't a recurring theme for time travel. Panel 3: Same setting as the previous panel. The layout widens slightly to take in the backs of Giana and Amanda as they walk into panel view around the garbage can. Giana walking around the left side with the Doc locked and underneath her arm, and Feli9 following behind her feet. Amanda takes the right side, giving Ms. Nasser a friendly pat on the back as she passes her. GIANA [to Mona, matter-of-factly and reassuring]: No. The wooziness and vomiting is a one-time thing as the body gets used to the temporal energies. You should be back to normal in a little bit. MONA [looks over toward Giana, still queasy]: And "little bit" means...? AMANDA [reassuring playful, to Mona]: You'll be fine... Panel 4-5: Cut to a shot of our three heroines walking on the sidewalk for a period. The bodies of other Cairo citizens passing by them, along with some of the cars on the street near them. Giana takes a slight lead in the group, with Amanda trailing a step behind them and Feli9 walking in between them. Mona is in the back, letting go of the rim to the trash can and following them. In Panel 5, you can see her holster her energy sword as the conversation continues. AMANDA [Cont., Panel 4]: Barring any weird side-effects! MONA [concerned, Panel 4]: Wait, "weird side-effects?!" GIANA [perturbed, under her breath to Amanda; Panel 4]: MANDY! GIANA [Cont., composed in full; Panel 5]: Anyway, this William Felton guy...
