Ghede: Guerrier Extraordinaire #3: Pages 21-22

Page 21, 5 Panels- Avain's Dhom Panel 1: Cut to a shot of the front of Avain's Dhom moments later. We see the noble ship captain standing at the edge of the guard rail, slogging through the chunk of guts that hit the ship. watching as the 30-foot tall heroine stands in partial profile around the right side of the panel view moving toward it. AVAIN [Cont., to Ghede; translated from French]: You couldn't have tried to float it into the sky...or at least away from my ship?! GHEDE [Off-Panel, translated from French]: Not with someone as big as that Charybdis. Panel 2: Same setting as the previous panel moments later. The layout widens slightly, taking in Ghede as she starts to shrink back toward her normal side. At this point, however, she is still a relatively massive figure (15 feet) floating high above the river bed. You can see, just as you could in the previous panel, the entrails hanging and falling from the trees in the background. GHEDE [Cont., to Avain]: The only shot I had to take it down was to go big. AVAIN [pushing a pile of entrails overboard]: And the song? Panel 3: Slight close-up on the Voodoo specter a few moments later as we see it begin to return closer to her normal size (give or take a foot). You can see her start to make her descent back to the ground. She has her now trademark grin flashed over her face, holding her Molltach in her left hand. GHEDE [chuckling]: Just some...riotous showmanship! AVAIN [Off-Panel]: Right... Panel 4: Cut to a side shot a second later. We see our titular heroine, the Haitian guerrier, arrive back on ship, floating above a pile of red and dark green entrails lying on the wooden floor. Avain is on the left side of the panel view, splitting his view between his friend and clearing off another chunk of Charybdis guts off of his ship. AVAIN [Cont.]: So...how do you think this Charybdis got here? GHEDE: There lies the billion Euro question. Panel 5: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. You can see upstage Ghede's hand sweeping clear from right to left. The action results in a section of the bloody entrails being effortlessly sweeped away toward the water on both sides. She's still floating above the ground, though with less distance than the previous panel. Avain just begins to stand back up after clearing away the last chunk of guts near him. GHEDE [Cont.]: Though I have a strong hunch that Kagu-Tsuchi has something to do with it. Page 22, 6 Panels- Avain's Dhom Panel 1: Same setting/layout as the last panel of the previous page. At this point, the French sailor stands back up and takes a step forward toward his supernatural compatriot. She slips the sword back into its holster, shoving away another portion of Charybdis guts from the far edge of the ship. AVAIN [translated from French, scratching his head]: Wait, I thought only creatures to whom the human has knowledge of can manifest themselves in the In-Between. Panel 2: Cut to a shot a couple of moments later showing Ghede as she moves up the side of the ship. Her right hand clearing off another chunk of gooey, bloody entrails off into the sea below, landing with a thunk. You can see the blood-strewn trees in the background as well as Avain with his arm to his side, walking behind the Haitian guerrier as she glides by. AVAIN [Cont., to Ghede]: Wouldn't something as big as that have been rejected by Ozawa's body? GHEDE [chuckling, translated from French]: Ah Avi...sometimes I forget you're a human. Panel 3: Slight close-up on Ghede's face a second later. As the lower half of her body continues the clean-up effort, you can see her tilt her head back to the side in order to address her friend as she works. GHEDE [Cont.]: The amount of stuff that gods are willing to do to humans would scare you right to the bone. I once saw an Aboriginese trickster god smuggle an honest to Ala Kraken into an In-Between...nearly killed the poor slob if I remember right! Panel 4: Back to Avain trailing a couple of steps behind her continuously. He moves his attention briefly to the railing next to him, cleaning off a trail of it. His focus, all the while, split between the metal bar and conversating with Ghede. AVAIN: What about you? As long as I've know you, Ghed, you haven't struck me as someone who follows the line laid out closely by rules and protocol. GHEDE [Off-Panel]: It's true, I don't. I only have three of them. Don't kill innocent people. Panel 5: Cut to a rear shot (though definitely not a "Butt Shot") of Ghede a second later. She's stopped in front of Avain who appears only partially in the right side of the panel view. You can see the rear of the ship that is still to be cleaned in the background, along with a little section of the river. GHEDE [Cont. serious, still looking at Avain over her shoulder]: Always say yes when a woman in a karabella dress asks you to dance. And anyone who treats me with no degree of respè whatsoever... Panel 6: Same setting as the previous panel. The layout changes slightly as we see a little more of the human captain appear standing around the right area of the panel view. As for Ghede, she turns her head back out in front of her. Her arm moving forward to take a little section of the guts near the back just before it tumbles off-board. GHEDE [Cont.]: Gets sent to their own steadily closing pocket dimension!
