Time Lady of L.A. #14: Pages 23-24

Page 23, 6 Panels- Hallway, Cairo West Air Base, 1981 Cairo Egypt Panel 1: We move to an interior shot of a hallway at the Base minutes later. It's the same hallway that we saw with the Air Chief Marshal (who walks next to Mr. Felton here) and the Pilot Officer (before he broke away in Page 21) were seen pages ago. At this point though, William takes a prominence in the foreground of the shot standing alongside Vice President Mubarrak deep in conversation. Behind them is a mixture of government advisors and the hulking presence of M from 1985. VICE PRESIDENT MUBARRAK [impressed, to William; translated from Egyptian Arabic]: I must say, Mr. Felton, the technology you and your...benefactor have shown us is quite extraordinary. Especially the armor that your bodyguard is wearing. WILLIAM FELTON [to President Mubarrak, translated from Egyptian Arabic]: Thank you, Mr. Mubarrak. It's only the beginning, both in regards to what we can give your country...and the power your noble nation will accrue as a result of our tech. Panel 2: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. William and the Vice President taking the majority presence at the center of the panel view. The background behind them changes slightly as the group of people move upward toward the doors that lead out to the tarmac area. The advisors look over papers and chat up with one another, discussing other points of business that have nothing to do with the conversation that's at hand. Meanwhile, the Air Chief Marshal looks up toward the ceiling with a degree of curiosity as to a mystery sound that escapes the others ears. WILLIAM FELTON [Cont.]: Now, there's something currently parked out on the tarmac that I think could be beneficial in future wars. Or say...finding the men responsible for President Sadat's assassination. Which I know you are doing your very best to do, Mr. President. VICE PRESIDENT MUBARRAK [nodding thoughtfully]: Indeed... VICE PRESIDENT MUBARRAK [confused, to William; Bubble 2]: You mean "Vice President," Mr. Felton? I'm not the President yet. WILLIAM FELTON [correcting, to Vice President Mubarrak]: Right right...my apologies. A little brain fart. Panel 3-4: A two-part set of panels centered around the same setting and layout as the previous two. In Panel 3, a few moments later, Mr. Mubarrak looks over and notices the Air Chief Marshal as he reacts to the sound which comes into more prominence by this time. Seconds later, in Panel 4, there's an explosion that can be heard from outside. It causes the advisors and protection, including the veteran military man, to swarm around the President and start to drag him back toward the entrance doors, chattering various security orders and measures to others as they leave. VICE PRESIDENT MUBARRAK [curious, to the Air Chief Marshal; Panel 3]: Mr. Aamir, what are you...? AIR CHIEF MARSHAL [yelling; Panel 3]: BOMB! SOUND EFFECT [Off-Panel; Panel 4]: FWAABOOMM!! Panel 5: Cut to a shot of William and M standing next to one another. They're looking up toward the ceiling, appearing as if they are trying to decipher who or what has caused the explosion. Though unlike the compatriots from the relative past, they have a solid idea as to who it is behind it all. WILLIAM FELTON [knowing, in English]: Giana and her friend are here... Panel 6: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. A second later, as alarm buzzers go off around the base as a result of the blasts, we see Mr. Felton turn his head in M's direction. A glint of determined, angry fire can be seen in his eye as he speaks to the taller armored compatriot at chest level. WILLIAM FELTON [Cont., almost sadistically giddy; to M]: I'll double back to the Vice President and his men, try to smooth things over there while you...say hello to the girls, in your own way. M [through robotic filter; to William]: With pleasure, sir! Page 24, 5 Panels- Tarmac, Cairo West Air Base, 1981 Cairo Egypt Panel 1: Cut to a shot from the clear blue sky of Feli9 that takes place near simultaneously with the action that took place inside the base in the previous page. The rear of her metal frame launching a pair of small fireworks that quickly zip down toward the hard concrete air strip. Panel 2-3: A two-part set of panels that cut down to the ground below moments later as the fireworks make contact. In each panel, we see a large explosion that billows a plume of smoke and fire up to the sky. We also see in Panels 2 and 3 the other soldiers scrambling for cover. Panel 4: Same setting as the previous panels. The layout, however, has changed slightly as we see a different section of the same general tarmac area at the same time that was introduced in Panel 1. In the background, around the right side of the panel view where the face is seen, you can see a quick slash taking place from a trio of shadows in the distance. Panel 5: Close-up on that section of fence that was seen in the previous panel. It's primarily an action shot of our three heroines as they burst through the opened area and inside the base. Mona is seen in the middle of the shot. Her energy sword dipped downward to the ground as a result of the action from Panel 4. Giana is seen standing on her left, and Amanda on her right.
