Ghede: Guerrier Extraordinaire #4: Pages 5-6

Page 5, 7 Panels- Avain's Dhom, Interior of the "Boom Room" Panel 1-2: A two-part set of panels cut back to Avain a couple of beats after Ghede's cry in the last panel of the previous page. We see in Panel 1 the Frenchman standing just outside the opened doorway, looking up toward his friend. And in Panel 2, he steps on through inside the aforementioned "Boom Room." AVAIN [to Ghede, slightly unsure, translated from French; Panel 1]: I...I'll double check the "Boom Room." Panel 3: Cut to an interior shot of the Boom Room, illuminated by the flicker of a metal lamp and a functioning lamp. He furiously searches the area for the aforementioned "Ice Chips." You can see part of what appears to be a fairly impressive arsenal complete with a litany of guns, big and small, and bazookas of different designs (some of which look almost nigh futuristic). Panel 4: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. The captain moves his attention toward another part of the Room moments later (with more illumination from similar looking ceiling lamps), still in search of the magic weapon. In the background, you can see more of the weapons he keeps holed up in this room, including an assembly of impressive looking swords. Panel 5: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. The racks of weapons that we see in the background changes only slightly. The perspective of them stretching out far into the distance has also kept onward from the previous panel. Avain looks down and notices something in front of him. AVAIN [translated from French, relieved]: Oh, praise the gods! Panel 6: Action shot from the ceiling looking down. Avain bends down and starts to pick up a light blue metal grenade (aka the "Ice Chips") from the bottom rack in front of him. A rumbling that has carried on outside in the background through most of the page now a little louder than it had been before. AVAIN [Cont.]: Just enough to get the job done...hopefully! Panel 7: Close-up on Avain a second later. His head crains up toward the roof, showing a closer glimpse to the reader of the individual "Chips," which look a lot like metallic water balloons with a complex trigger on top of them. GHEDE [Off-Panel, translated from French]: Avi! AVAIN [yelling]: Coming! Page 6, 6 Panels- Boom Room, Avain's Dhom Panel 1: Action shot a moment later, shifting back down toward ground level, of Avain running back outside. His hands gripping a pair of the Ice Chips snuggled underneath his arms as he goes. You can see the same ever-changing racks of weapons from the last page in the background, which continues throughout the bulk of the action in this page. Panel 2-3: Same setting as the previous panel. The layout changes slightly to a bit of a side view moments later as he continues running. You can see Avain with a bobble of the two Chips located underneath his upstage arm. In Panel 3, as he appears smackdab in the middle of the shot, one of them suddenly drops out of his grip and tumbles to the ground. Panel 4: Slight close-up on the Frenchman a split second later, looking back for the first time to realize the mistake that he's made. His arms tightly grip the remaining three Ice Chips as he tries to stretch out and grab the errant grenade before it hits the floor. AVAIN [translated from French, panicked]: Fuck, fuck.... Panel 5: Action shot that looks out from Avain's back toward the affected area. It shows the grenade hitting the floor and exploding in a good-sized flash of white and light blue, knocking the good captain back a few feet. Panel 6: Cut to a few moments later. Avain is lying on the bottom edge of one of the racks, which shows an array of armor suits for different climates. The grenades resting in a little group on his lap. You can see the opened doorway appear in the distance as a sliver of light to the left of him. He slowly uses his feet to try to press himself back upward after the dizzying blast. AVAIN [woozy]: Fuuckk!
