Ghede: Guerrier Extraordinaire #4: Pages 11-12
Page 11, 5 Panels- Avain's Dhom Panel 1: Cut to a close-up shot of Ghede a second later as she begins to step back toward the ship's main complex. She chuckles healthily; her feet just starting to lift up off of the ground as she starts to turn back northward. GHEDE [Cont., translated from French]: If that's your issue, next creature of the D pops up... Panel 2: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. At this point, a moment later, the Haitian guerrier is now fully in flight mode, gliding effortlessly through the wall of the Dhom's center complex inside. Her head just starting to phase through. GHEDE [Cont.]: It's all yours! Panel 3: Cut to the French captain at the wheel. He glances over his right shoulder in the direction of his friend, though his eyes still focus squarely on the river in front of him. A look of intrigue at the offer can be seen on his face and his general body language. AVAIN [translated from French]: Even the Murrclos? Panel 4: Back to a shot of the Dhom's main complex a split second later as the ship continues on its merry way. No other movement or sign of action from inside or out as they pass the forested areas in the background; just the sound of Ghede's voice from within. GHEDE: ...Sure. The slippery bastards have always been a pain in the ass to me. Panel 5: Back to Avain in a setting that looks fairly similar to the one that we saw in Panel 3. He lets out a tiny bit of a chuckle at the statement, reaching into the pocket of his pants to pull out a pack of . His eyes still ever focused on the sea in front of him as he changes the gear as if by muscle memory. AVAIN: And if, somehow, we remain free of D up to the river's edge...what then? GHEDE [Off-Panel]: In that glorious (and highly unlikely) situation... SOUND EFFECT [Off-Panel]: BOOM! Page 12, 6 Panels- Avain's Dhom Panel 1-3: A three-part set of panels centered around the top of the Dhom's main complex/living area. In Panel 1, there is a pair of dots gliding in an arc through the sky with a longer blurry line (representing Ghede) following behind it. In Panel 2, the triad of blurs start to make their descent back toward the front of the ship which we see partially in the bottom of the panel view. And in Panel 3, we follow the last part of it toward the navigation area where Avain is glancing partially in the direction of the blast and what we now see is Ghede descending downward along with what appears to be a bottle and a pair of crystal glasses. Panel 4: Cut to a shot of the Haitian guerrier seconds later landing expertly and effortlessly next to Avain, who appears in the background to his right. She has a hold of a bottle of Clément Créole Shrubb in her right hand, and the two crystal glasses expertly by the fingers of her left hand. A casual smirk painted over her face. GHEDE [translated from French]: We'll be buzzed and ready to save our daft, human victim! Panel 5: We move over to Avain at the wheel. His eyes glance over at her off-panel friend, examining the bottle of fine alcohol in her hand. You can see his eyebrow lifting ever so slightly upward at the discovery. AVAIN [translated from French, intrigued]: Clément...that a '58? Panel 6: Cut back to Ghede a second later. She lifts the bottle back up toward eye level, looking down at the label on the front of it as she speaks. The glasses can be seen in the same position to her side. GHEDE [examining it]: Close. '57...still a good year.
