The Boo-Ya! #1: Pages 15-16

Page 15, 6 Panels- Command Center, NATO's ETA Division, Brussels Belgium/Earth's Upper Atmosphere Panel 1: We cut to an action shot of Ms. Cartwright a couple of moments later as she makes her way up an elevated walkway in the direction of the Command Center's entrance doors. You can see Jess off in the background, watching with a degree of concern in her voice as she speaks. JESS [Cont., to Private Cartwright]: You do know that, right? PRIVATE CARTWRIGHT [determined]: Known and sincerely do not give any of the fucks, Jessa. Panel 2: Cut to a shot from high above the planet we call home, though it's undetermined as to exactly where. A little section of dark star light visible in the sky above, blending with the clouds and the blue inside our atmosphere. It's here that we see the rear of the Boo-Ya! come into view, drifting into our orbit for the first time minutes later. PRIVATE CARTWRIGHT [Cont., Off-Panel]: Especially when it comes to the chance of seeing aliens for the first time! CAPALDI [from the bottom of the ship in a speech bubble]: Swaah...duess...ohn... Panel 3: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. At the end of the countdown, we see the rear hatch to the ship opening up. A stream of gray nanobot-looking device, numbering in the millions, flows out of the ship and out into the gray-black of the sky beyond as the Boo-Ya! formally enters the scene and zooms out toward the right of the panel view. NESSA [interjecting, from a similarly placed speech bubble]: Make it rain! Panel 4-6: A three-part set of panels centered on the blob a couple of seconds later as it takes its pre-determined shape. In Panel 4, the Krispies starts to break off into three separate oval shapes in the sky. In the next panel, just as soon as they form those aforementioned ovals, we see it start to break apart and change colors. And in Panel 6, you can see the bots start to shape and form into something greater along with the ever-changing color scheme. THE MADAM [to Nessa, confused; Off-Panel, Panel 4]: "Make it rain...?" NESSA [to the Madam; Off-Panel, Panel 4]: It's a quasi old Earth phrase that was considered cool by fascinating apes before getting killed by the sadder and duller of the species. NESSA [Cont., Off-Panel; Panel 5]: Thought it seemed fitting here. COMMANDER WEBER [Off-Panel, Panel 6]: What the fuck is it doing now?! Page 16, 7 Panels- Command Center, NATO's ETA Division, Brussels Belgium Panel 1: We move back to Earth level in the interior of the ETA Division's Command Center an hour later. In particular, Commander Weber standing over a cubicle and looking down at a computer screen off-panel. A look of massive annoyance and befuddlement visible on her face as she watches the action taking place (namely whatever final shape the Krispies have taken). The individual nameless soldier whose cubicle Maria has taken over can be seen in the foreground of the shot, looking back toward their commanding officer. SOLDIER [to Commander Weber, looking closely at the image]: It appears to be forming into one cloudy mass over a section of land near the Switzerland-Italy border. There appears to be a message at the center of the mass. COMMANDER WEBER [holding back the rage, to the Soldier]: I can see that, Soldier! I want to know what it means! Panel 2-3: A two-part set of panels that start out in the same setting and layout that we saw in the previous panel. In Panel 2, you can see the soldier tense up anxiously. Their fingers tapping on to the computer for a brief moment. In the next panel, we cut for the first time to an image from Italy's national TV station being streamed there of what Commander Weber has been seeing all this time. A large assembly of clouds hovering over a small village. Its rainbow colors spelling in two letters (and what appears to be an "Off" switch) "Fuck off!" SOLDIER [in attention and scared; Panel 2]: Oh. Right, um...I could be spitballing here, ma'am. SOLDIER [Cont., Off-Panel; Panel 3]: But I think this is their response to our previous message. Panel 4: Cut to a close-up shot of Ms. Weber's face a few moments later. The annoyance that was on display in the opening panel of the page has now shifted toward downright anger, though she's still doing an admirable job of containing it at that moment (a feature of her Germanic blood). COMMANDER WEBER [to the Soldier]: Check the toxicity levels of the cloud. They may become an issue for the villagers on the ground. Panel 5: Back to the Soldier seated at their desk. They've stopped typing at that moment and turns their head up and over to Ms. Weber once again. You can see their mind quickly trying to come up with an answer to the question, albeit without much of a solid explanation. The televised action visible behind them on a separate window in the background as it changes to a split screen between the cloud of Krispies and the newsreader at the studio. SOLDIER [corrective, though also a little scared of her; to Commander Weber]: Actually, I--I'm not sure that'll be the case. It appears only to be hovering stationary in that position. But then again it- Panel 6-7: Back to a shot of the good Commander in a similar setting and layout to the one that we saw from her last in Panel 4. She quickly nods approvingly at the statement, shutting down any further explanation from the subordinate. In the next panel, the layout widens as she walks away from the cubicle. Her right hand pressing the side of her cap, activating a Bluetooth communication device that descends like a piece of string from within. COMMANDER WEBER [to Soldier; Panel 6]: That's perfect! COMMANDER WEBER [into the Bluetooth device; Panel 7]: Airman... AIRMAN [from the speaker, to the Commander; Panel 7]: Yes, ma'am? COMMANDER WEBER [Bubble 2]: Do you have the unidentified aircraft in sight?
