Ghede: Guerrier Extraordinaire #4: Pages 17-18
Page 17, 6 Panels- Avain's Dhom Panel 1: Cut to a shot from the front of the ship showing our two heroes at the front of the ship looking out. Ghede takes another sip of her rum drink, chuckling profusely as she does. Avain glances at her from his periphery while shifting the Dhom into another gear. Panel 2-3: Same setting/layout as the previous panel after a few long moments pass by. The Haitian guerrier lowers the glass back down to her side; the chuckling from before faded down to silence. Avain, meanwhile, moves his gaze squarely back to the river once more. His hand letting go of the transmission stick and moving back to the wheel. In Panel 3, Ghede turns her head over toward Avain who looks on in stern seriousness as he takes another drink of his own near half-full rum glass. GHEDE [translated from French, to Avain; Panel 3]: Soo...the travel armor. AVAIN [translated from French; Panel 3]: Yeah? Panel 4: Slight close-up on our titular heroine a moment later. You can see a proper look of curiosity in her face as she speaks. You can also see, along with the main complex of the Dhom in the background, part of Avain's face aroudn the left side of the panel view. GHEDE: Is it still push-button activated? Panel 5: Cut to Avain a moment later. He turns his head over toward Ghede, raising a curious eyebrow at the question posed to him. You can see next to him the now almost empty glass of rum next to him in the right side of the panel view as he speaks. AVAIN [trying to piece together the meaning]: Yeah. Back in the complex's control room...why do you ask? Panel 6: Back to Ghede with a point of view tilted in such a way that it comes from Avain's side of the ship. She's looking on toward the right off-panel at something that has shown up in the water. The high-stretching trees of this In-Between's beautiful forested area can be seen behind her in the background. GHEDE [concerned, though still trying to put on a brave face]: Ohh...no reason! Page 18, 5 Panels- River/Avain's Dhom Panel 1: Cut to a slightly elevated looking shot a moment later, taking in a stream of small creatures called Ebbos. They are hairless and roughly the size of human children with long fingers that look like claws. Their masses at this point are already in the dozens, stretching far up the river as they charge on the water toward the Dhom. As for our heroes, the back of their heads can be seen looking on (Ghede on the right, Avain on the left) as more of the Ebbagogou drop in from the forests to meet the newly massed force. GHEDE [Cont., translated from French]: Just an armada of Ebbos-- AVAIN [translated from French, interjecting]: Running at us on the water! Panel 2-3: Cut back down to a profile shot of our heroes a split second later. You can see one of Avain's hands already letting go of the wheel, while the other still has a good hold on the remnants of the rum in the glass. Ghede, meanwhile, has her left hand gripped firmly on the Molltach in Panel 2. In Panel 3, as Avain finishes off the rest of the rum, we see the Haitian guerrier unfurl her beautiful sword from its holster ready to fight. The nervous energy she displayed in the previous page now gone, or at the very least covered up. AVAIN [Panel 2, nervy]: I will get to it straight away... GHEDE [Panel 3, set for battle]: And I will get to sweeping up these pale yellow putos! Panel 4: Slight close-up on Ghede a moment later. Her sword can be seen gripped with both hands, gleaming proudly in the sunshine as Avain's footsteps clatter the wood floor in the background. A gleam in her eye and the cocky fanged smile is seen on her face, which always denotes what she views as a fun battle to come. GHEDE [Cont.]: Alright, you creepy ass gremlin wannabes... Panel 5: Cut to the front of the Dhom moments later when we see the first of the Ebbos start to approach. Their numbers steadily growing from the background as more of the pale yellow, hairless creatures continue to emerge and dive into the scene from the subsequent forested areas. GHEDE [Cont.]: ...LET'S DANCE!
