The Boo-Ya! #1: Pages 21-22
Page 21, 5 Panels- The Boo-Ya! Command Center Panel 1: We pull up the layout to take in the rest of the crew, responding to the mystery sound with the same type of pained expressions on their faces. Each of them trying to find out what exactly is causing it, except for Nessa near the bottom left of the panel view who is searching inside a nearby compartment for headphones. THE MADAM [through pained growls]: What the hells is that?! It sounds like a Greeeahvlin's getting cooked alive in a flarking oven! Panel 2: Close-up on the Madam a couple of beats later. She tilts her head up toward the ceiling to address Capaldi with a sense of impassioned hurry in her voice. Part of the chair is visible around the right side of the panel view. In the background, you can see Staehlia walking into view, typing away on something unseen to the reader. THE MADAM [Cont., to Capaldi]: Don't we have a sound bubble or invisible cloak on this rig? CAPALDI [from the ceiling in a computeried Scottish brogue, to the Madam]: We did have a invisibility cloak, cap'n. But you lost it to a card shark from Mars three wehks ago in a game of Poker. THE MADAM [remembering, then with a grumble; Bubble 2]: Oh right...cheating little ! Panel 3-4: Same setting/layout in Panel 3 as in the previous panel. After letting out a sigh at the end of Panel 2, the Madam throws her arms out to the side in a bout of frustration as she continues to address the bodyless A.I. In Panel 4, we cut to a shot of Staehlia at the same position in regards to the console that we saw her in in Panels 2 and 3. She looks over her shoulder in the direction of her captain, though her eyes are tilted up towards Capaldi's direction. THE MADAM [to Capaldi; Panel 3]: Anything else we can do to shut it up? Maybe something in a large "BOOM!" CAPALDI [from the ceiling; Panel 3]: I'm sorry, Madam. I can't engage in any offensive maneuvers while the Boo-Ya! is in Regen. STAEHLIA [to Capaldi; Panel 4]: What about the HoloVisor, Capaldi? It should be able to give us an idea as to what we are dealing with. Panel 5: Cut to a shot of the ceiling to the Command Center a beat later. You can see the center of the roof in the panel view open up, and a device make its descent toward the ground floor. The HoloVisor has a similar bent to the periscope commonly found in submarines, albeit more compact in design and similar to Oculus Rift goggles. CAPALDI [to Staehlia]: I think I can spare that... THE MADAM [complimentary, to Staehlia; Off-Panel down corner left]: Nice thinking, Stahl! Page 22, 6 Panels- The Boo-Ya! Command Center Panel 1: We cut to a shot of Staehlia slowly hobbling over in the direction of her captain. The focus of which is evident throughout the odd numbered side of the page's set of panels. At this point, you can see the level of pain and soreness on the Titanian's body, using the railing as a crutch with each step. STAEHLIA [confused, but accepting of the compliment; to the Madam]: Thanks, cap'n. Though it was more assisted by an observation of the ship's operating manual, which you should... STAEHLIA [Bubble 2]: The sound has stopped! Panel 2: We cut to a shot of the Madam standing in roughly the same position that we saw of her at the end of the previous page with the Captain's chair behind her. The focus of which is also evident throughout the even numbered side of the page's set of panels. She looks up and waits for the HoloVisor as it slowly descends down to her while also generally paying attention to whatever Staehlia's saying. THE MADAM [relieved, to Staehlia]: Thank the flarking gods for that! Not for the ape-ish minions who first unleashed that bett'n noise on us... THE MADAM [Cont., Bubble 2]: They will die a terrible, screaming death! STAEHLIA [Off-Panel]: Just out of curiosity, cap'n... Panel 3: Same setting/layout as Panel 1, taking place a couple of seconds later. We see Staehlia start to move around a curve that comes with the elevated flooring of the command center on her way down to the floor. Different sections of the command center are visible somewhat in the background as she speaks. STAEHLIA [Cont., to the Madam]: What exactly is our plan to respond to the humans, Madam, when we do see them? Without access to weaponry, it would be a fairly difficult enterprise to accomplish. Panel 4: Same setting/layout as Panel 2. The good captain of the Boo-Ya! tilts her head back down and looks over toward Staehlia's direction in full. Her face and body still showing a casual, dismissive attitude toward any threat from the humans outside. All as the HoloVisor drifts fully into view a couple of inches above her head. THE MADAM [scoffs, to Staehlia]: You don't need bombs to scare the apes, Stahl. You've always mentioned how they're so scared of omnipotent boogeymen. We can use that to our advantage if needs be. Panel 5: Back to Staehlia in a similar setting and layout as Panels 1 and 3. At this point, we see the young Titanian reach the end of the walkway and start to make her way toward the straight line leading to her captain. For the first time, she slowly walks without the use of a metal crutch. STAEHLIA [understanding, but still in need of one last question to solve; to the Madam]: Okay, but what if we encounter the kind of humans who do not garner this particular fear? Panel 6: Same setting/layout as Panels 2 and 4. The Madam flashes a slight grin as the HoloVisor drifts in alignment to the Killeman's eyes. Her big hands latching on to both sides of the device, setting it up in a comfortable position on her face and activating it with her left forefinger. THE MADAM [cocky, to Staehlia]: The usual biz. First respect...then screaming, painful death for them.
