Ghede: Guerrier Extraordinaire #4: Pages 25-26

Page 25, 5 Panels- Avain's Dhom Engine Room Panel 1: We move to a proper interior shot of the engine room moments later. She continues her search quickly going through the bowels of the Dhom, which only appear as shades of black in the background. That area is illuminated by an aura-like glow emanating from the top of Ghede's hand. GHEDE [Cont., translated from Haitian Creole]: C'mon, you little kaka tuch... Panel 2: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. A couple of extra moments of searching have passed. The movement evident in the Haitian guerrier that we saw in the previous panel and the last panel of the previous page has stopped. Her eyes have now moved toward a specific area on the right side of the panel view. GHEDE [grinning, with a growl]: Gotcha! Panel 3: Cut to a slightly elongated shot showing the back of Ghede, looking over at the Ebbo in the distance as it descends from the floorboards. It can be seen charging forward toward the Dhom's engine whose design skewers the line between highly technological and what would typically be seen on a steam ship in the middle of the 20th century. You can also see Ghede quickly unflick her Molltach from its holster, letting out a "FWING!" as she goes. GHEDE [whistles, to the Ebbo]: Oi! Bitey... Panel 4: Cut to a front shot of Ghede a moment later. Her body has shifted into a proper attack mode, right foot forward and the left foot back. Minaj can be seen over her right shoulder, gleaming with the same type of light that we saw in passing in the beginning of the page. GHEDE [Cont.]: Have time for an encore? Panel 5: Side-shot a split second later showing the two combatants charging at each other to strike. Ghede can be seen coming from the left side of the panel view, swinging her sword at the Ebbo who is coming equally quickly from the right side. You can see the creature's size quickly rise as it goes, along with its muscle structure. Page 26, 7 Panels- Avain's Dhom Engine Room Panel 1: We move the action to a few short seconds later as our two combatants crashing full blast into one another. The small creature, now as tall as our heroine and far more muscular, raises up its claws just in time to protect itself from the full slash from the Haitian guerrier's weapon. Panel 2-4: A three-part set of panels showcasing the ever increasing action of this duel. No one side taking full control of the fight. You can see Ghede flexing her muscles as the panels go on, which come in handy to take on the powerful slashing motion that the Ebbo unleashes in Panel 4. Panel 5: Slight close-up on our two combatants a couple of seconds later. Ghede can be seen on the left side of the panel view, using Minaj to push back the full force of the creature seen on the right side of the panel view. You can see the glare of the Ebbo's fangs on the side view as it pushes closer to our titular heroine. Its leg, off-panel, lifting up as if to set up a counter kick. Panel 6: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. Just as the Ebbo is about to dropkick our heroine with one of its powerful, pale yellow colored legs, you can see Ghede phase her midsection in order to avoid brutal physical contact. The result of which is that the creature, shocked by the development, stumbles through her toward the back wall behind them. GHEDE [translated from Haitian Creole, turning and raring the Minaj up in preparation to slash it at the Ebbo's back; boastful]: Hahahaha.... Panel 7: The layout widens slightly as we move a couple of beats later. Ghede leaps high into the sky, and hurls the sword straight at the Ebbo who has slammed hard into the opposite wall. You can see the edges of the damaged wood around him, along with the growing hole that the creature caused. GHEDE [Cont., badass]: Adieu, motherfucker!
