Ghede: Guerrier Extraordinaire #5: Pages 7-8
Page 7, 5 Panels- Kagu-Tsuchi's Mountaintop Dwelling Panel 1: Full body shot of the water god moments later just as the process of posession over the human Mr. Ozawa has taken effect. The evidence of which can be seen in the eyes, which have changed from a black to more of an ocean blue. He uses his right hand and gently drags it down the side of his body, taking stock of the human meat receptacle while the laughing fades out. KAGU-TSUCHI [translated from Japanese]: You are in far better physical condition than I gave you credit for, Mr. Ozawa. Panel 2: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. Suddenly, the human head cranes wildly toward the right of the panel view. A signal that the part of Kazuo's personality has popped out from the constrictions placed by the water god. Even if only for a minute. You can see his right hand rising up from his side ever so slightly. KAGU-TSUCHI [as Mr. Ozawa; angry]: Fuck you, you filthy, patronizing little-- Panel 3: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. Only a couple of moments pass between Panel 2 and now. The right hand that we saw starting to move up has been halted midway by an equally speedy left hand which grabs it at the wrist just before it could reach the neck. Along with the softening and straightening of the head, we see at this point that Kagu-Tsuchi has started to retake control of the body once more. As for his body, there is a more youthful spring to it, though his face maintains its prior wrinkles and old age facade. KAGU-TSUCHI [to Mr. Ozawa; condescendingly]: Tut tut, that is no way for a "Titan of Industry" to conduct themselves! Panel 4-5: Slight close-up in Panel 4 a few moments later, cutting off the legs of "Kazuo" from panel view. The water god, now firmly in control of the old human body, has pushed the right hand and arm back down to its side. In Panel 5, he begins to take a couple of steps to the left, taking his new human vehicle out for a ride. KAGU-TSUCHI [Panel 4]: Now...to mine that brain of yours and see what I can use for the I-B.
KAGU-TSUCHI [Cont., Panel 5; pondering]: Hmmm.... Page 8, 6 Panels- Kagu-Tsuchi's Mountaintop Dwelling/Avain's Dhom Panel 1: Same setting/layout as the last panel of the previous page. In the middle of his thought, he's stopped pacing just a couple of steps away from the wall. The proverbial light bulb flashing above his head at that same moment, along with the proverbial evil smile coming over his face. KAGU-TSUCHI [translated from Japanese]: Mmm-hmmm... Panel 2: Cut back down to the Dhom at the river below as all of this has taken place. We see a close-up Ghede hovering proudly over the front of the railing, looking out toward the right. The protective shield over the ship can be seen in front, cutting through the water at the same moment the ship's moving. KAGU-TSUCHI [Cont., Off-Panel]: This will do nicely! CAPTION: River, In-Between- 2 1/2 hours since the Ebbo attack Panel 3-4: The setting is similar to the previous panel, though we pull out slightly to take in Avain back at the wheel to the Dhom. In Panel 4, the Haitian guerrier looks over her shoulder ever so slightly in the direction of the captain, who looks out at the river in the same direction that she was in the previous couple of panels. GHEDE [translated from French, to Avain; Panel 4]: How long do you think till we reach the end of the river? AVAIN [translated from French]: Shouldn't be too long, Ghed... Panel 5: Close-up on the good captain's face a split second later. His eyes glancing ever so slightly to the left, surveying the scene in front of him. You can see in the bottom of the panel view his hands at the wheel keeping it steady. AVAIN [Cont.]: Another 10-20 minutes probably, given the steadily increasing layout of the "mountain." Panel 6: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. His face turns slightly back toward Ghede's direction. He points out with a free left hand in the direction of the off-panel mountain. A degree of concern and curiosity visible on his face. AVAIN [Cont., to Ghede]: Which, on a separate note--why in God's name would Mr. Ozawa suddenly craft a mountain? Wouldn't that drastically impair any chance he has at survival? GHEDE [Off-Panel]: I know...
