Ghede: Guerrier Extraordinaire #5: Pages 15-16
Page 15, 6 Panels- Bottom of Avain's Dhom
Panel 1-2: Close-up on Avain's face, planted down on the ground along with the rest of his body in Panel 1 in the circular area of light in the bottom of the Dhom. A few moments later have passed, in Panel 2, and we see the good captain trying to push himself back up to his feet. In the background, behind and over his shoulder, you can see the bottom of what appears to be some kind of a cane. You can also see part of Ghede's legs in the same area as the cane.
GHEDE [Off-Panel, translated from French; Panel 2]: Told you...
Panel 3: We pull back slightly a couple of beats later to take in our titular heroine standing over her friend just as he gets back up to his feet. She holds a gold trident with silver tips, an oval shaped glass at the base between its blades and the matching gold cane connected to it, and an overall design that skewers between Cyberpunk and Steampunk in terms of its overall design.
GHEDE [Cont., to Avain; extending her left hand out to help her friend out]: At least your Tridentis didn't get dinged up too badly.
Panel 4-5: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. Another beat passes by, and we see Avain reaching out with his right hand and grabbing on to his friend's hand. His body is already midway past You can see the Tridentis still firmly held in the titular heroine's left hand. Finally, in Panel 5, the good captain is firmly back on his feet standing in front of Ghede and dusting off his shirt.
GHEDE [to Avain, Panel 4]: Speaking of which...why do you need it in the first place? GHEDE [Cont., Panel 5; to Avain, a little surprised]: You actually reconsidering thinking of joining me up the mountain? AVAIN [laughing, to Ghede; Panel 5]: Not a chance...
Panel 6: Close-up on Avain focused around the top half of his body. You can see him grabbing the Tridentis with his right hand a few moments later. His gaze is split equally between his friend and the opened hole above them.
AVAIN [Cont.]: I just thought we could use an emergency plan.
Page 16, 5 Panels- Avain's Dhom
Panel 1-2: A two-part set of panels which first begin with a boastful shot of our titular heroine in Panel 1, slipping her arm into her friend's left elbow. In Panel 2, along with more of a view of Avain from his back and side as he stands next to her, we see a wide smile painted across Ghede's face.
GHEDE [translated from French, Panel 1; to Avain, cocky]: Who needs a backup plan, Avi... GHEDE [Cont., Panel 2]: We got me!
Panel 3: Back to Avain next to her who lets out a little flicker of a chuckle at Ghede's retort. There's also the presence of a smile over his face, although not as wide and present as we see in the previous panel. You can also see the good captain's body start to lift ever so slightly off of the ground as a result of an upward ascension.
AVAIN [translated from French, to Ghede]: Yeah, but sometimes that hasn't really worked out well on our end.
Panel 4-5: We move to a ground level shot looking up in the direction of the opened hole, focusing on our two heroes as they start to make their way back up to the top of the Dhom. Avain is positioned just above the hole itself, while Ghede is next to him and to the left of the hole. In Panel 5, they start to emerge out of the other side with the Haitian guerrier phasing herself through the floor to the top level.
AVAIN [Cont., Panel 4]: Remember the Duke and his solid gold drones phalliques? GHEDE [Panel 4]: Do I ever! For every one of those damn things we sliced, three more would show up. It took every drop of energy I had to stop those things and shuffle him off to his next phase. GHEDE [Cont., Panel 5]: On the plus side, whenever I need a good laugh...I just picture one of those damn things!
