Ghede: Guerrier Extraordinaire #5: Pages 19-20
Page 19, 5 Panels- Avain's Dhom Panel 1: Back to a shot of the good captain. His left hand pressing down on the center of the circular console, which triggered the massive light gold yellow beam from the Tridentis. He glances over at Ghede from his periphery as he speaks; a look of pride for his work visible on his face. AVAIN [translated from French]: Gold and metal polymer blend, tripolar laser connection powered by a thermal core generating the same energy output as a small star... Panel 2: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. The lone difference, outside of the fact that he lets his finger off of the center console, is that Avain has turned his head more toward the Haitian guerrier to speak to her. You can see the glow from the Tridentis' laser beam start to dissipate as the last bit of energy spills out. AVAIN [Cont., to Ghede]: The same type of power source I use for the very craft we stand upon now. Thus why I always leave it there. Panel 3: Back to Ghede hovering around the same position that we saw her back in Page 17. She's looked on at the whole episode, which has lasted for two minutes in total, with a great deal of respect and cool giddiness at what she's seen. Her hand gently touches the top of the handle to Minaj (aka her Molltach) as she speaks. GHEDE: Not gonna lie...just got a little warm down south watching that! Panel 4: Back to Avain just as this is taking place. He moves closer to the front railing of the Dhom with the Tridentis to his right. He smirks and lets out a little bit of a chuckle at the statement. It looks as if, to the reader, that what he's heard is almost nothing new to him. AVAIN [to Ghede]: Save the amorous attitudes for after we save the human! GHEDE [Off-Panel]: Those weren't 'amorous attitudes,' Avi... Panel 5: Back to Ghede just a couple of beats after the good captain asks the question. She chuckles at a slightly louder pitch than her friend did. A big, gleaming grin plastered on her face as she speaks. GHEDE [Cont., to Avain]: I just love a good boom! Page 20, 5 Panels- Avain's Dhom/Beachside Panel 1-2: Same setting as the last panel of the previous page. The layout widens slightly to take in more of the beach and the rest of the Haitian guerrier's body. A handful of seconds have passed by since the last panel, and we see the chucking has ended. Her big smile now just a casual half-grin. As she's about to turn around and move inland, Ghede looks over her shoulder toward her shipbound friend. GHEDE [translated from French; Panel 1]: Anyway...time for me to kick some pompous godly ass and save another pompous ass! GHEDE [Cont., to Avain; Panel 2]: You remember the signal when the soul is handled? Panel 3: Back to Avain on the ship. He scoffs slightly and looks up at the sky slightly. His hand holding the Tridentis shifts slightly, along with the device, as he's speaking. You can see in his mannerisms that it's a question that has been tossed his way multiple times in past missions. AVAIN [translated from French, to Ghede]: Look for a really big bang in the sky above the mountain flashing "Closing time!" Or, ya know...just watch the I-B disintegrate. Panel 4-5: Back to Ghede who lets out a deep bellowing chuckle in Panel 4. Her mind going through a considerable amount of past incidents she's gone through involving exactly what was mentioned in the second statement of Avain's statement. In Panel 5, we see our titular heroine with her back turned heading back up to the forested area near the beach which we only see partially in the top of the panel view. GHEDE [chuckling, to Avain in reference to his second sentence; Panel 4]: Avi, my friend, if that ever happened, to use another hideously overused saying... GHEDE [Cont., Panel 5]: "The shit will have hit the fan!"
