Ghede: Guerrier Extraordinaire #6: Pages 1-2
Page 1, 7 Panels- Skies Above the In-Between Panel 1: We pick up almost precisely where we left off at the end of Issue 5, albeit with a small section of time (20 minutes) having elapsed. The sway of the forests moving back and forth below them, unknowing of the action going on.You can see Ghede getting swamped, trying to keep the slashing and screeching hornets off of her. Panel 2: Slight close-up on the titular heroine. She's seen in the middle of an action shot, slicing into the gullet of one of the massive bugs with a mighty scream. In the background, you can see the fangs of other of the bugs' cohorts who have every intention to avenge their compatriot. Panel 3-4: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. It's only a few beats after what we saw in Panel 2. Suddenly, one of the massive armor-hided hornets rises up and slashes our heroine straight in the back just as she turns around. In Panel 4, a second later, we see another hornet right next to the first one slashing the Haitian guerrier across the chest. Panel 5-7: Close-up in Panel 5 on Ghede's face after the last slash we saw in Panel 4. Her silver eyes glow a slight tint of red around the irises. She raises Minaj high into the air in Panel 6 and takes a mighty whack into the side of one of the massive hornets. But in Panel 7, just a quick minute later, she is felled by the stinger of a hornet that is larger than some of their cohorts. GHEDE [translated from Haitian Creole, Panel 7; pained scream]: AHH, dammit! Page 2, 5 Panels- Skies above the In-Between/Forested area Panel 1-3: A three-part set of panels centered aroudn a single setting and layout. You can see through each of the three panels a single black dot (representing our heroine Ghede) in the center of the panel view streaking down to the ground below, which is hidden amongst the beautiful oak trees. Panel 4: Cut to a shot of the ground below a miute later. We see her body slamming into the soft grassy earth only as a quick blur. The trunks of a small group of trees can be seen in the background near the impact site, getting hit with the requisite chunks of mud and dirt. Panel 5: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. A few moments have passed by, and we see only a little bit of the hole's interior which appears slightly in the panel's view. As for any sight of the Haitian guerrier, the only piece of evidence that she is in there is the sound of groaning coming from within the hole.
