Ghede: Guerrier Extraordinaire #6: Pages 7-8

Page 7, 6 Panels- Nebulous area of the In-Between Panel 1: Same setting/layout as the last panel of the previous panel. Suddenly, as fast as you can blink, the leaves of each of the trees behind her dries up. Ghede turns around and looks at the phenomenon without any semblance of shock at anything going. GHEDE [translated from Japanese]: Okay, you have control over Ozawa... Panel 2: Close-up on our heroine's face a moment later, watching as the scene around her changes wildly. The trees, now barren of their leaves, rising from the ground like sticks. You can see on her face that she is not impressed by the display being initated from the omnipotent unseen water god. GHEDE [Cont.]: Tell me something that would qualify as a surprise! Panel 3: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. A minute later, you can hear a "BANG!" emanating from the trees that are barely visible in the top half of the background. Ghede looks up and notices the presence of sand floating in mid-air on its way down to the ground. Panel 4-5: A two-part action shot showing our titular heroine avoiding the raining grains of sand, which paint the backgrounds of each panel in a light brown color reminiscent of milk chocolate. You can see some of the other trees that went skyward exploding in the backgrounds of each panel as she moves. Panel 6: Ghede stops after a few minutes of movement. The sand piles have stopped falling off-panel. She looks on and observes the situation before her, while in the background we see what appears to be another section of forest as well as the mountains faintly in the distance. GHEDE [translated from Haitian Creole, to herself; impressed]: Okay... Page 8, 6 Panels- Desert/Forested Area of the In-Between Panel 1: Cut to a shot of the scene that our titular heroine is witnessing. Namely, a long stretch of desert that has suddenly sprouted out, contained in a single area amongst the vast forested area of the rest of the In-Between. You can partly see the back of Ghede's head looking on at the whole scenario. GHEDE [Cont., translated from Haitian Creole]: That'll do it! Panel 2: Same setting as the previous panel. The layout shifts slightly to take in the top half of Ghede's body, showing her face as it turns back 180 degrees from the suddenly arriving desert area. Her silver eyes looking up skyward with a degree of curiosity. GHEDE [Cont., translated from Japanese, to Kagu-Tsuchi]: So...is this your plan to defeat me, warping reality? You do know I've survived every "impediment" you've chucked my way. KAGU-TSUCHI [Off-Panel, translated from Japanese]: Of course I do... Panel 3: Cut to the river side a few moments later where we last left the Dhom belonging to our other hero Avain. He's seen standing out on the front railing of the ship, looking out cautiously for any word from Ghede. His Tridentis firmly in hand next to him. You can see a bank of clouds starting to form above the ship, blanking out the sun. KAGU-TSUCHI [Cont., cryptically]: Save for one! Panel 4-6: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. Avain looks up, a few seconds after the actions of Panel 3, to find the first flakes of snow starting to fall on the ship. In Panel 5, he starts to turn around and make his way toward the interior of the complex as the snow starts to increase in frequency. In Panel 6, however, the good captain is frozen in place by a powerfully cold hurricane style wind that hits him. AVAIN [translated from French, concerned; Panel 5]: Oh fuck!... AVAIN [Cont., steadily more frightened; Panel 6]: Fuck, fuck, fuck...
