The Boo-Ya! #3: Pages 7-8

Page 7, 7 Panels- Corner of Via Pasquale Paoli and Via Varensia, Como Italy Panel 1: Same setting/layout as the last panel of the previous page. The car has finished its parking procedure, stopping alongside Ms. Cartwright who appears from behind in the panel view. The businessman leans forward toward the young woman to speak to her. You can see in the passenger seat a fine brown suitcase partially covered by his body and a messenger bag behind it in the backseat. BUSINESSMAN [Cont.]: Hai bisogno di un passaggio?

Panel 2: Cut to a shot of Robin's face a split second later. She raises an eyebrow of mild disgust, looking on at the man who resembles something of a rapist in her eyes. Which is evident in her body language which seems to want to pull away from the situation and back on down the road again. ROBIN CARTWRIGHT [to Businessman, trying to shake him off]: Hi, umm...not really looking for help, thanks. Panel 3-4: Same setting as the previous panel. The layout widens slightly to take in the action of our human heroine starting to walk away from the scene back down the road. The businessman slides back into the driver seat of the BMW in Panel 3 and shortly follows her in Panel 4, trying to plead his case to the young woman. ROBIN CARTWRIGHT [Cont., muttering to herself as well as him; Panel 3]: Not looking to get raped and murdered in the middle of northern Italy either. BUSINESSMAN [to Robin, Panel 3; corrective in his speech]: Parla inglese? Siamo spiacenti, signora... credo che mi abbia frainteso. BUSINESSMAN [Cont., Panel 4] Umm...do you need...transportation? Panel 5: Back to Ms. Cartwright's a moment later. She stops walking and looks back toward the Italian man as he stops. Unlike what we saw in Panel 2 though, she has softened the antagonistic approach ever so slightly. Though part of her is still apprehensive whether or not to trust the guy. ROBIN CARTWRIGHT [to Businessman, cautiously intrigued]: Yeah, that's pretty obvious. Where are you heading? BUSINESSMAN [Off-Panel]: I'm on vacation, heading to Cernobbio... Panel 6: Cut back to a shot of the Businessman in the driver's seat, looking over to his left in the direction of the young Welsh woman. The hum of the engine as it sits in an idling position can be heard in the background as he speaks, along with the sound of hip-hop coming from the off-panel left satellite radio. BUSINESSMAN [Cont.]: Meeting a friend of mine for lunch and some sunbathing before I head back to the office in Milan. Panel 7: Back to Robin in a setting and layout that looks similar to what we saw in Panel 5. Her intrigue in the stiuation and what it can do to help her in her current situation. As was the case in Panel 5, she starts to become a little warmer to the situation. Though still with the same level of apprehension of danger to her person. ROBIN CARTWRIGHT: Hmm...I'm not really familiar with this part of the country. Is that anywhere close to Moltrasio? Page 8, 5 Panels- Via Varensia, Como Italy Panel 1: We jump to a sky shot of the Via Varensia a handful of minutes with our heroine in the businessman's BMW as they head up the road in the direction of Moltrasio. The landmarks of the city move with the steady speed past on both sides of the setting. There's a sense of uneasy silence inside the car as the sound of a business show plays on through the radio. Panel 2-3: Same setting as the previous panel. Though the layout is cut much closer toward the level of the car through its windshield, split between Robin (seen in Panel 3) and the Businessman (Panel 2). Their conversation taking place over the course of the ride with the same whooshing landmarks passing by. BUSINESSMAN [to Robin, Panel 2]: I'm Vincenzo, by the way... VINCENZO [Cont., looking to break the ice; Panel 2]: Soo...what brings a young English woman like yourself looking to go to Moltrasio at this hour? ROBIN CARTWRIGHT [to the Businessman, a little uneasy; Panel 3]: Um, well--that's going to be a bit...tricky to explain. VINCENZO [curious; Panel 2, Bubble 2]: How so? ROBIN CARTWRIGHT [Panel 3, Bubble 2]: Because...I work for NATO. Well, probably used to now. VINCENZO [with a chuckle; Panel 2, Bubble 3]: I assumed as much with the camoflauge and the... ROBIN CARTWRIGHT [interjecting; Panel 3, Bubble 3]: Not that kind of NATO. I mean, the kind you've probably seen in the news. What I'm talking about is another kind...a secret kind. Panel 4-5: Same setting and type of layout that we saw in the previous pair of panels. A minute has passed between the end of Panel 3 and where we pick back up here. Robin can be seen carefully choosing her words here as to not seem like a crazy person, given that the Extraterrestrial Threat Advance division is a secret entity in NATO amongst the world's populace. As for the businessman Vincenzo, he listens on and tries to take in precisely what she's saying. ROBIN CARTWRIGHT [Cont., Panel 5]: One that deals with aliens and monsters and the like throughout the collection of nations, except for the Americans who have their own way of handling it. VINCENZO [pretending to understand, Panel 4]: Ahh I see...like the ones that attacked London some time ago. ROBIN CARTWRIGHT [Panel 5, Bubble 2]: Yeah and no. I don't think we're talking about gods touching down in Italy, but rather a First Contact that will happen, or already has happened, somewhere in Moltrasio. VINCENZO [Panel 4, Bubble 2]: I see. So, where's your, um...'backup,' miss? ROBIN CARTWRIGHT [Panel 5, Bubble 3]: That's where things get messy.
