Page 9, 5 Panels- Forested/Desert area of the In-Between Panel 1: We see the same image of inclement weather being thrown in Avain's direction back in the river area. The image is slightly warped and given a gleam from a crystal sea blue screen. It looks very similar to the type of screen that we saw on the mountaintop with Kagu-Tsuchi a few issues back. GHEDE [translated from Japanese, Off-Panel]: Let Avi go...he's an innocent! KAGU-TSUCHI [translated from Japanese, chuckling; Off-Panel]: I'm merely evening the odds, young Ghede. Panel 2: Cut to a shot from the side view of our titular heroine a split second later. We see her focus split between the side of the water-based screen, which hovers just above chest level, and the sky above her. There's a look of toughness and seriousness that befits the equally tough and serious situation. GHEDE [Cont., to Kagu-Tsuchi; heroic growl]: We know the beef lies with the two of us, Kagu. Why don't you show yourself, and end this already! KAGU-TSUCHI: You will only see me...when you are worthy of it! Panel 3: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. A couple of seconds elapse between Panel 2 and this one. Ghede takes a step back, surprised slightly by the sight of the explosion water view-screen exploding in front of her. The effect similar in a way to a water balloon after hitting its target. KAGU-TSUCHI [Cont.]: ...Happy trails! Panel 4: We move to a slight close-up of the Haitian guerrier a split second later. The top half of her body visible in the panel view. She looks up, angry and annoyed at the ambivalence being thrown her way by the water god. You can see a little bit of Minaj and the arm holding it in the left edge of the panel view. GHEDE [to Kagu-Tsuchi]: Really? Really?! Panel 5: Same setting as the previous panel. The layout pulls out slightly to take in her arms, which stretch out to either side. Her body language softening slightly from anger strictly to annoyance with a touch of disbelief in the base of her voice. GHEDE [Cont.]: After all the crap I've had to go through, you still want to... Page 10, 6 Panels- Forested/Desert area of the In-Between Panel 1: Same setting/layout as the last panel of the previous page. As quick as the anger appeared on our heroine's face, it fadefs with a shrug to one of resounding acceptance. A product of centuries dealing with omnipotent deities. She turns her body around, ready to resume her journey GHEDE [translated from Haitian Creole, muttering to herself]: Whatever! Panel 2: Close-up on her face after she's finished turning. She looks up and to the right of the panel view in the direction of the mountain. The conversation with Kagu-Tsuchi firmly put to the side in favor of what she was brought there to do. GHEDE [slight grin]: Back to the job... Panel 3: Cut to a profile shot of the mountain jutting out high in the distance of the Haitian guerrier. The house in the distance where Kagu-Tsuchi/Mr. Ozawa is currently staying, waiting for our heroine to arrive. GHEDE [Cont., Off-Panel]: And whatever crap is coming my way! Panel 4-6: A three-part set of panels, sculpted around a side view. Each one shows our titular heroine as she journeys through the forested area on her way to the mountain. In the background, you can see the trees that Ghede's going through change steadily in shape and size with each foot she moves. A bright white light can be seen growing in the center of the panel view. GHEDE [thinking to herself; Panel 5]: Stay strong, Avi zanmi... GHEDE [Cont.; Panel 6]: We've been through worse than this!
