The Boo-Ya! #3: Pages 13-14

Page 13, 6 Panels- Cartwright Household, Crumlin Wales Panel 1-2: We move back to a close-up of Nathan's face a handful of seconds later, looking up in the direction of the night sky. He flashes a cautious smille as he observes the beauty of the quiet evening, seemingly lost in thought over something related to daily life. In Panel 2, his thought is broken up slightly by a question emanating from his dear daughter. The smile a little bit wider than it was in Panel 1 as he turns his head down to Robin. NATHAN CARTWRIGHT [in his head, Panel 1]: Even if some people do their damndest to prove you wrong... ROBIN CARTWRIGHT [Off-Panel, to Nathan; Panel 1]: Do you think they're out there? NATHAN CARTWRIGHT [to Robin, more paying attention than before; Panel 2]: What's that? Panel 3: Cut to Robin standing in front of the telescope which is seen behind her. Her head turned toward her father with a sense of earnestness in her eyes as she reiterates her question. You can also see part of the roof below her feet, sloping down toward the unseen front lawn. ROBIN CARTWRIGHT [to Nathan with great curiosity]: Aliens...Do you think they're really out there, that we'll ever see them come to Earth? Panel 4: Back to Nathan in the same position and layout that we saw in Panel 2. He thinks to himself for a moment, not really expecting such a deep and philosophical question to come out of the mouth of his seven-year-old daughter. His smile lessens slightly toward a stoic grin. NATHAN CARTWRIGHT [to Robin, ponderous]: I...I'm pretty sure there is, yeah. It'd be pretty darn stupid, and depressing too, if we were it in the cosmos. Panel 5: Back to Robin in a shot very similar to the one we saw in Panel 3. The layout zooming in slightly on the young girl's face as part of her curiosity has been satiated. We also see, at this point, a touch of excitement and hope in her eyes upon hearing the answer. ROBIN CARTWRIGHT [to Nathan, with a little heightened spark in her voice]: You think maybe I'll be able to see one of them when I grow up? Panel 6-7: A two-part set of panels centered first on Nathan a few moments later, watching as Robin walks toward her dad. The smile that we saw at the start of the page is back now in full force here. In Panel 7, the daughter shares a nice little embrace of her father briefly. Her face tilting up toward his face with a little bit of befuddlement in response to Nathan's remarks. NATHAN CARTWRIGHT [nodding, to Robin; Panel 6]: Nothing would make me happier, dear, than to see that happen. NATHAN CARTWRIGHT [Cont.; Panel 7]: Unless they're Daleks or, like, the Ice Warriors of Mars. Then I'd tell you to find a ray gun...or a really big hair dryer. ROBIN CARTWRIGHT [confused, to Nathan; Panel 7]: Huh?... NATHAN CARTWRIGHT [just remembered something, to Robin; Panel 7, Bubble 2]: Oh right, you haven't seen Doctor Who. Your mother and I are definitely going to rectify that before the summer's out. Page 14, 6 Panels- Cartwright Household, Crumlin Wales/Petrol Station, just outside of Cernobbio Italy Panel 1: Same setting/layout as the last panel of the previous page. The moment of love shared by the two of them is interrupted slightly by the sound of Robin's mother coming from within the house. Nathan's head turns down and to the right of the panel view in the direction of the aforementioned sound. MRS. CARTWRIGHT [to Nathan, Off-Panel]: Honey, your boss is on the phone! NATHAN CARTWRIGHT [sighs, to himself]: Ah hell... Panel 2-3: A two-part set of panels that are centered around the beginning of an action and the end of one. In Panel 2, we see Nathan take his young daughter underneath her arms and lift her up to his shoulder. A look of joy and fatherly love on his face, covering the sense of melancholy that was partially evident in the page's first panel. In Panel 3, a couple of beats later, he has Robin up on his shoulders and starts to make his way toward the telescope to take it in before coming back down. NATHAN CARTWRIGHT [to Robin, Panel 2]: I'm feeling a little tuckered anyway. Let's get to bed, little bird. ROBIN CARTWRIGHT [to Nathan, Panel 2]: Alright, Dad. NATHAN CARTWRIGHT [Cont., Panel 3]: We'll head off to the video store tomorrow, see if there's any classic Who we can rent, okay? ROBIN CARTWRIGHT [to Nathan, Panel 3]: Okay, Dad... NATHAN CARTWRIGHT [Panel 3, Bubble 2]: Love you... Panel 4: We move to a shot of the adult Robin, back in present day Italy. She's seated on her side in the sleeping position on the passenger side of the Businessman's BMW. A little section of the car's backseat can be seen over her shoulder to the right of the panel view. A series of lights shining down on the car and her at the same moment. ROBIN CARTWRIGHT [Off-Panel, in memory form]: Love you too... Panel 5-6: A two-part set of panels, both centered on the same setting and layout that we saw in Panel 4. In Panel 5, we see our human heroine snoring loudly, lost in the hustle and bustle of her own dreamscape. She sleeps over the sound of footsteps and screeching brakes that can be heard from the background around the car. The noise continues on in Panel 6, and includes the sight of a pair of hands that can be seen on the left of the panel view touching the rolled down window of the passenger side door. BUSINESSMAN [Off-Panel, to Robin; Panel 6]: Scusi, Ms. Robin?... ROBIN CARTWRIGHT [startled; Panel 6]: Fmahhggh!
