Ghede: Guerrier Extraordinaire #6: Pages 15-16
Page 15, 6 Panels- Crater, Nebulous Area of the In-Between Panel 1: Cut to the steaming black-green hole that was caused by the explosion we witnessed in the last panel of the previous page. In the center of the panel view, we see Ghede groaning more in annoyance than in pain with her face on the ground and her arms stretched out to her side. You can also see her Molltach Minaj just an inch away from her outstreched left hand. Panel 2: Slight close-up on our heroine a few moments later. At this point, she's pressed herself up from the ground and starts to walk over toward the right side of the panel view. Her left arm stretching out behind her and grabbing Minaj off the ground as she walks. GHEDE [translated from Haitian Creole; annoyed and a tiny bit woozy]: Okay, this-- Panel 3: Same setting as the previous panel. The layout changes slightly to take in the amount of distance that the Haitian guerrier has traveled at this point. Her hand has gotten a good hold of her sword once more as we begin to see the edge of the high cliff coming into view in the right side of the panel. GHEDE [Cont., looking up; less woozy, but still annoyed]: Is getting-- Panel 4: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. For the first time in the course of the page, we see her start to levitate off the ground with her weapon in hand. At this point, Ghede has started to regain her normal instincts and function. Her head is still tilted in an upward direction from the last panel. GHEDE [Cont.]: Fucking ridiclous! Panel 5: Cut to a view located from the edge of the crater looking out a few moments later. Our titular heroine has all but fully emerged above the crater, looking out in the scenery in front of her. You can see in the background that the scene appears to have changed drastically from the In-Between we've come to know. A fact that has now just begun to hit her looking at the new scene. GHEDE [stunned]: The park...the air... Panel 6: Cut to a beautiful landscape shot showing precisely the type of scene that Ghede is witnessing in the previous panel. It looks very similar to a part of the La Visite National Park in the southern part of Haiti. There's even sight of the Morne du Cibao very far off in the background. GHEDE [Cont., Off-Panel]: ...The last time I was here, under these environmental conditions, was-- Page 16, 7 Panels- Nebulous area of the In-Between Panel 1-2: Same setting as the last panel of the previous page. The layout shifts slightly over to the left, signifying Ghede's POV at that moment. There's the sound of helicopter blades firing on all cylinders off-panel view, which represents precisely what got our heroine's attention. In Panel 2, a few moments later, slight close-up on a helicopter (an AugustaWestland AW109 Grand Versace VIP, to be exact) as it comes down from the sky. On the side of the craft you can see the logo for Ozawa Enterprises. GHEDE [translated from Haitian Creole, Off-Panel; Panel 2]: Ahh, he plugged me back into this memory. Panel 3: Cut to a shot of Ghede's face a split second later. Her silver eyes roll slightly back into her head, and a growl (which glides between Panel 2 and Panel 3) escapes her lips upon seeing. GHEDE [Cont., angered through gritted teeth]: Here I thought it couldn't get any worse! Panel 4: We move to a ground level shot showing as the luxury silver and red colored helicopter makes its descent a few miles from the scene, which has been grazed of trees and the like. The bottom of the helicopter can be seen as it makes its descent with the blue slightly cloudy skies in the background. Panel 5: Following along the same stream of action that we saw in the previous panel, the helicopter lands gently on the light brown ground below. The blades above just starting the process of winding down. You can see coming into view from the right side someone with an air of governmental importance in his body language, dressed in a fine silver suit and a red tie. Panel 6-7: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. With the Grand Versace helicopter now landed, the doors start to open slightly and a staircase descends from the bottom of the aircraft. You also see more of the mystery person we saw in passing in Panel 5, and the bureaucratic air is now firmly visible as he walks toward the craft holding a manila folder underneath his arm. In Panel 7, we see from the now opened doorway a shadow start to emerge from within the craft. The bureaucrat, at this point, has stopped and is waiting for the emergence of the guest of honor. BUREAUCRAT [translated from Japanese; to Mr. Ozawa]: Good morning, Mr. Ozawa...
