Ghede: Guerrier Extraordinaire #6: Pages 17-18
Page 17, 5 Panels- La Visite National Forest, 1992 Panel 1: Same setting/layout as the last panel of the previous page. The Bureaucrat takes a step toward the side of the staircase, watching and waiting as Mr. Ozawa emerges and takes the three steps toward the ground. The businessman is considerably more youthful (his early 40s to be exact) than what we saw in the beginning of the series, hands placed casually behind his back. He is dressed in a respectful looking dark blue suit and tie. His auburn hair buoyant, cleaned and styled like you would expect from a man of considerable wealth and taste. BUREAUCRAT [Cont., translated from Japanese]: I trust the plane ride here was smooth and uneventful. MR. OZAWA [translated from Japanese; confused, to the Bureaucrat]: It was...satisfactory. Panel 2: Slight change in focus toward the titan of industry a second later as he reaches the edge of the staircase. His hands dislodge and move down to his side. The rest of his body starts to turn toward the right of the panel view. As for the bureaucrat, he can be seen partially coming into view in the right side of the panel. MR. OZAWA [Cont., glancing to his left in periphery]: Where is your boss? I was under the impression I was to meet him before heading on to the mountain. BUREAUCRAT [to Mr. Ozawa]: Mr. Duvalier is still back in France with his wife, settling with...personal matters. Panel 3: Cut to a close-up of Alec's coal black face and short dark hair. You can see the forested area in the background behind him with its tree branches swaying in the subtle breeze. You can also see what appears to be a Jeep parked ten feet from where the man stands. MR. HENRI [Cont., to Mr. Ozawa; organized, well in control]: My name is Alec Henri. I'm in control of the government agency that has taken control of the site. Panel 4: Back to Kazuo a split second later. The same type of forested background and swaying tree branches are visible behind him in the background. You can also see what appears to be a black streak (representing Ghede) coming into frame. He flashes a curious eyebrow in the direction of the young man standing in front of him. MR. OZAWA: Government agency? You mean he... MR. HENRI [Off-Panel]: Indeed. Le ministère de l'Occultisme et de la Multiverse... Panel 5: Back to Mr. Henri a couple of seconds later. At this point, he has raised the folder up toward his chest, showing off partially the logo of the Haitian government emblazoned on the front of it. MR. HENRI [Cont.]: The Ministry of the Occult and the Multiverse. Page 18, 6 Panels- La Visite National Park, 1992 Panel 1: We move to a shot of the two gentlemen talking with one another as they make their way over to the Jeep. The helicopter is visible somewhat in the background, being tended to by the pilot. You can also see Ghede and the streak she left in the sky from Panel 4 of the previous page as she follows incognito behind them. MR. OZAWA [surprised, translated from Japanese; to Mr. Henri]: Huh. I had heard Jean-Claude had eyes toward an agency focused on the supernatural. Panel 2: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. A minute has passed by, and we see the front of the pale gray Jeep on the side of the panel view. Mr. Henri already making the turn toward the driver's side of the vehicle while Kazuo keeps his position, moving toward the passenger side. All the while, the streak that is Ghede watches on from above. MR. OZAWA [Cont., to Mr. Henri]: I didn't know he actually got the gall to make it a reality. MR. HENRI [translated from Japanese, to Mr. Ozawa]: It was created in secret after the demon attack in Le Cap in the early '80s that destroyed a large section of the city. Panel 3: Cut to a shot of the young man as he's opened the half-door leading to the driver's seat area. His body already in mid-movement toward sitting down. You can see him gently placing the folder on top of the dashboard as he speaks to the businessman. MR. HENRI [Cont., a touch melancholy]: It's actually how I got the position in the first place, watching my superior die in my arms at the hands of the shapeshifting bastards! Panel 4-6: A three-part set of panels centered around the same Jeep that was featured in Panel 3. Kazuo opens the door in Panel 4, and subsequently slides inside on to his seat in the next panel. As this goes on, on the right side of the panel view, we see Alec in Panel 5 put the key to start the small car up. Which finally happens in Panel 6, shaking the confines of the area slightly as the shadowy spectre of Ghede hovers behind them in the background. MR. OZAWA [to Mr. Henri, Panel 4; sympathetic]: My sympathies, Mr. Henri... MR. OZAWA [to Mr. Henri, Panel 5; shifting toward business]: I read in the last report that the site showed promising energy readings at its-- MR. HENRI [to Mr. Ozawa, Panel 6; interjecting]: Actually, Mr. Ozawa...there's a problem connected to that.
