Ghede: Guerrier Extraordinaire #6: Pages 23-24
Page 23, 7 Panels- Nebulous Dark Area between realms Panel 1: We move to an interior shot moments after the action we saw in the last panel of the previous page. It focuses squarely on our titular heroine on her side. Her sword floating effortlessly in the sky just a couple of inches away from her grasp. The vibrant, lush forested background that had been so prevalent for a large chunk of the series is now totally gone. Panel 2-3: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. A few moments pass, and we see Ghede wake up once more to her new surroundings with a groan befitting a bad hangover. In Panel 3, as she gets herself back upright, the Haitian guerrier takes the first look at her new all-black surroundings. GHEDE [translated from Haitian Creole; Panel 3]: Trapp. That's what he... Panel 4: The layout widens slightly in order to take in the full scope of the size of this shapeless, formless area. Ghede focused squarely in the center of the panel view, looking around at the scene and pondering to herself. GHEDE [Cont.]: Crap! KAGU-TSUCHI [Off-Panel, translated from Japanese]: To utilize an overused modern human phrase, Ghede... Panel 5: Cut to a shot located just a few feet in front of our heroine moments later. We see an outline of our story's antagonist, the venerable water god. The outline is light blue in color, showing off the same regal design he had in Issue 5. You can also see the scar around the lower base of his neck, though for the most part he is but a watery ghost. KAGU-TSUCHI [Cont., to Ghede]: You ain't seen nothing yet! Panel 6: Back to Ghede in front of her. As she's looking at the ghost of the Japanese water god, you can see her right arm stretching outward to grab the handle to her Minaj which is floating just out of reach on the left side of the panel view. GHEDE [to Kagu-Tsuchi, chuckling]: It's always adorable whenever a god tries to be vengeful and ominous. Nine times out of ten, it's full of... Panel 7: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. Her outstretched arm at this point grabs a firm hold of the handle to her mystic sword, squeezing it to show off a glare of a clenching bicep muscle. Her face, however, has lost a bit of the playful tone that was evident in the previous panel. GHEDE [Cont.]: Shit! Page 24, 1 Panel- Nebulous Dark Area between realms Panel 1: A full-page sized shot that cuts back toward the antagonist, who we see in all his ominous glory around the left side of the panel view. In the distance, in the upper right hand corner of the panel view, we see a portal opening. The first shadows of a large band of creatures start to barge into view like wolves coming out of a cave, though their precise shape is not discernible at this point. KAGU-TSUCHI [translated from Japanese; to Ghede]: Goodbye...and good luck! END OF ISSUE 6
