Ghede: Guerrier Extraordinaire #7: Pages 3-4
Page 3, 5 Panels- Avain's Dhom, In-Between Panel 1: We move to a shot of the good captain a few seconds later. He's down on one knee, looking down at the floor of the ship as he regains his faculties once more. The Tridentis still firmly locked in his hand, though the base of it is the only part visible in the panel. You can see a decent amount of damage that is registered on the side of the Dhom's compound in the background. AVAIN [translated from French; pained]: Hmmmahh...damnnn... Panel 2-3: Pull out to take in the rest of Avain's body as he slowly stands back up from his rolled up position. His hand placed higher on the weapon to signify the brief passage of time that has elapsed. You can see more of the damage incured on the rest of the Dhom as a result of the explodig ice as well as a small section of the forest behind him. In Panel 3, Avain is back on his feet and taking his first look at the new scene around him. AVAIN [Cont., satisfied; Panel 2]: That feels so good getting out of that ice block! AVAIN [Panel 3]: Hopefully, Ghed was able to get my... Panel 4: Close-up on the good Frenchman's face a second later. His thought interrupted by the sight of something, which has drained the color out of his cheeks. Only the brown of the ship and the bark of the trees is visible in the background. AVAIN [Cont.]: ...message. Panel 5: Wide sky shot from above looking down at the Dhom just after the statement. In it, we see the tops of a section of the forest around it as well as the nearby beach. At the top center of the panel view, where once flowed the mighty river that got him and Ghede to this point, there is nothing but a large patch of muddy dirt that stretches out toward the left side. Page 4, 6 Panels- Avain's Dhom/Nebulous Dark area between realms Panel 1: Slight close-up on the good Frenchman a second later from the outside of the ship looking in. He's standing near the railing with his Tridentis A look of shock and stunned silence is covered on his face as he looks down at the now barren river that was below him. AVAIN [translated from French]: My God...the disintegration is occuring quicker than I thought it would! Panel 2: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. Avain tilts his head back up to a horizontal position. His eyes looking over at the forested area in front of him as he contemplates the next move. AVAIN [Cont.]: I know she wanted me there only in case of emergency. And...this would qualify as an emergency! Panel 3: Cut back onboard the Dhom a second later. Action shot of the good captain turning around and heading over to the ship's main complex, which is seen partially around the left side of the panel view. You can also see one of the trees in the background start to wither in its foliage. AVAIN [to himself]: The Sled should have enough juice to reach the peak. Panel 4: We move to a shot from within the entrance to the main complex moments later. He leans forward on the opened doorway, holding a part of it with his free hand while taking one last look skyward. In the background, as this goes on, you can see the same type of rapid degeneration of more of the forested area to the left of the Dhom. AVAIN [Cont.]: Hopefully, the same can be said of my specses... Panel 5: Cut to a shot from within the nebulous dark area between realms as the action of the past few pages has gone on. It's here that we see Ghede armed with her trusty blade Minaj. She patiently waits for the charging force that was seen barely in the last panel of the previous issue to come at her. KAGU-TSUCHI [Off-Panel, translated from Japanese; to Ghede, ominous]: Goodbye...and good luck! GHEDE [thinking, translated from Haitian Creole]: Oh damn-- Panel 6: Cut to a shot just after the shadow outline of Kagu-Tsuchi has left from view, similar to what we saw in the last panel of the last issue. The creatures, the TROW, from the portal (that closes behind them) start to come into view. The Trow are pale white creatures with lean upper bodies and muscular lower bodies wolf like facial features (except for the ears that are more humanoid). They charge in on all fours, claws out, bellowing a primal cry that sounds almost musical as they go. GHEDE [Off-Panel, still thinking]: --The Trow!
