Ghede: Guerrier Extraordinaire #7: Pages 13-14

Page 13, 5 Panels- Nebulous Dark area between realms Panel 1-2: Same setting/layout as the last panel of the previous page. A few seconds have passed and Ghede continues searching to little success. Her body is seen moving gently to the left of the panel view. In the background, the large shape has solidified at this point. In Panel 2, we see it touch down on the hardened floor with an unimposing yet noticeable "BOOM!" Panel 3: Close-up on the composite creature's face, roaring with a power and fright that would scare most who come into contact with it. It looks very similar in design to the Khmeri dragon known as the Neak. There are five heads on its body, each filled with razor sharp teeth that gleam with menace. Panel 4-5: Cut to the Haitian guerrier a few seconds later. The full force of the growl in Panel 4 hits her face, though she doesn't appear that impressed by the newly formed antagonist. The growl reaches its peak and dissipates in Panel 5. She rubs the side of her face with her free hand as if there was a little dust or schmutz that was on her cheek. GHEDE [sighs, translated from Haitian Creole; Panel 5]: You know, for a second there... Page 14, 7 Panels- Nebulous Dark area between realms/Avain's Dhom Panel 1: Same setting/layout as the last panel of the previous page. Our titular heroine raises her left arm and the Molltach that carries it out horizontally. A warrior's smirk gently placed on her face, thinking about what's about to come. GHEDE [Cont., translated from Haitian Creole]: I actually thought this was gonna be easy! Panel 2-3: We move in Panel 2 to a side shot of the Neak on the left side of the panel view and Ghede on the right side, destined for an epic sprawling battle. In Panel 3, although the layout is also to the side, the setting changes to that of the main complex on Avain's Dhom. We see the good captain in mid-fall to the hard wooden floor after engaging in the same type of skyward leap that we saw of Ghede in Panel 2. The blue sky above him has gone darker than when we last saw her with a bright yellow flash splitting against it. Panel 4: Close-up on Avain’s face, elevated from the sky down on to the deck of the Dhom. We see him leaping high into the air, trying to grab hold of something above him that we don’t see. The only evidence of what this mystery craft or object can possibly be is the sound of humming, like a computer terminal, which floats around amongst the good captain’s words. AVAIN [translated from French; frustrated]: Damn gravity… Panel 5: Cut to a shot back on ground level of the same scene that we saw in the previous panel. We see the full result of his leap skyward at the object, going back down to the hardwood floor without the goal- a hovering disc with a long bar that sticks out from the front edge of it. At least that’s what it looks like through the lens of the panel view. Its engines spurting out a light blue flame from the two exhaust areas at the rear of the aircraft. AVAIN [Cont., groans]: Justas I was about to get going— Panel 6-7: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. A few moments later, we see him (in a slightly tilted shot in order to see the rest of his body) taking another leap at the hovering aircraft. In Panel 7, we see a close-up of Avain’s hand as it loops around the base of the bar that we saw briefly in Panel 5. AVAIN [Off-Panel, relieved]: Gotch--AAHHH!
