Ghede: Guerrier Extraordinaire #7: Pages 17-18

Page 17, 4 Panels- In-Between Panel 1-3: A three-part set of panels which descend from left to right on the page. Each one chronicling, from the ground looking upward, the glider's descent to the forested area below. Through the tips of the tress, you can see the good captain struggling to pull the steering wheel and, in the process, pull the rest of the glider skyward again. AVAIN [translated from French, strained; Panel 1]: Okay...FT!... AVAIN [Cont., to the Flottertroitnette; Panel 2]: Any time...you wanna wake up... AVAIN [Cont.; Panel 3]: I would really appreciate i-- Panel 4: A bottom 1/3 panel sized shot from the side of the same setting and layout that we saw in the previous panel. Finally, after many tense seconds that elapsed in the action of the prevous three panels, Avain is able to wrench the craft level just before it would crash head first into the ground. It zips by like a bullet, leaving the remaining trees in the area to whip in the same direction as the Flottertoitnette. AVAIN [yelling, pulled back slightly while still holding on to the wheel with both hands]: IIIIITTTT!! Page 18, 7 Panels- In-Between Panel 1: We cut to a shot from onboard the FT moments later, showing Avain from the back as he pilots as fast as he can toward the mountainside which appears off in the distance in the center of the panel view. You can see glide away to the right of an oncoming tree. Panel 2: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. We see the ship seconds later glide to the left past another tree. Around the left side of the panel view, you can see the tree that the good captain had avoided in Panel 1 has disintegrated and crumpled in shape and form to a pile of gray dust. Panel 3-7: The rest of the panels follow around the same type of format as the first two of them. Our hero ducking past the trees in front of him with split second timing and precision. All the while (particularly in Panels 4 through 6), each tree that he ducks meets the same fate that we saw in Panel 2. In Panel 6, as the FT nears its mountainous destination, we see a massive blue-green wall spring out of the ground, blotting out the mountain with exception to the peak and the shadow of the house which lies atop it.
