Ghede: Guerrier Extraordinaire #7: Pages 21-22
Page 21, 7 Panels- In-Between Panel 1: We cut to ground level seconds later where we see Avain and the protective Trap Door bubble bounce once hard on the ground and shoots back skyward. He grimaces slightly at the sudden force of impact that shakes up to the top of his head. Panel 2: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. The bubble has floated ten feet up and to the north of the initial impact before hitting the ground again with the same force as we saw in Panel 1. We also see generally the same reaction from the good captain as he absorbs the shock of the impact to his body, though not as painful as it was before. Panel 3: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. The distance of ground the bubble covered here compared to Panel 2 has shortened considerably, as well as the gap between the ground and the bottom of the bubble has decreased. In essence, we can see that the Trap Door has started to go to a stop. Panel 4-7: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. The bubble has stopped hopping and now begun to roll for a short distance. Avain can be seen rolling to a stop overtop from this point on to the end of Panel 7. From Panel 5 on to Panel 7, you can see in the top right corner of the background more and more of a rocky base appear in view. Page 22, 6 Panels- In-Between Panel 1: Cut to a profile shot of the good captain as the ball has settled into a stationary position. He reaches with his right hand across his chest to the pocket on his work shirt, which has some type of gold colored metal bar sticking out of it. You can see in the background near the right side of the panel view more of the rocky, mountain-like base from the last panel of the previous page. AVAIN [translated from French; woozy, getting his bearings back]: Oooof, as usual... Panel 2: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. A few moments pass by, and Avain pulls the metal object out of the shirt pocket. It looks very similar in size to the Sonic Screwdriver, though tubular and without the unique baubles and electronic baubles that come with the fictional device. AVAIN [Cont., pressing a button at the base of the object]: I am happy not to have a lunch to potentially lose! Panel 3-4: A two-part set of panels that are still centered around our hero. In Panel 3, we see the gold colored metal device change slowly a second after he pressed the button at the base of it in Panel 2, elongating it till finally transforming fully in Panel 4 into the proud weapon we know as the Tridentis. Panel 5: Close-up centering on the upper half of the good captain's body. We see his left hand grabbing the base of the weapon underneath his right, lifting it up behind his head in the beginning of a slashing motion. AVAIN [humming the first verse of "The Drama You've Been Craving"] Panel 6: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. Action shot of Avain, just a split second after the action of Panel 5, starting to slice the protective bubble of the Trap Door with the very tips of the Tridentis blades. You can see the hole where the weapon has made impact starting to form above him. AVAIN [Cont., humming the second verse of "The Drama You've Been Craving"; chuckling] Ahh, damn...
