Ghede: Guerrier Extraordinaire #8: Pages 7-8

Page 7, 6 Panels- Kagu-Tsuchi's Mountaintop Dwelling Panel 1-2: We pull back to a wider shot of Ghede a few moments later. She starts to pull herself up into a straightened body position, achieving only a 45 degree level when we see her in Panel 1. In Panel 2, she does achieve a full standing position. Her left hand holding the Molltach crossing her abdomen in order to slide it back into its holster. GHEDE [translated from Haitian Creole, wide grin; Panel 1]: The bad ass femèl chen... GHEDE [Cont., confident; Panel 2]: ...strikes again! Panel 3: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. It centers on an action shot of our titular heroine, who turns around and starts to glide up in the direction of an opened doorway in the room. You can see a little drop of black start to come into view in the sky through the limited scope of the window as she moves. Panel 4: Cut to a shot from the doorway area back toward Ghede and her face a moment later. We see parts of the rest of the dwelling's interior in the background, though not enough to be discernible to the reader. There's a look of curiosity on her face as the wide grin settles back to a flatline. You can see in the background, albeit faintly, the level of darkness that has started to blot more of the sky through the limited view of the window. Panel 5: Close-up on her face as she crosses through the doorway a split second later. She looks over to the left, gently touching the top of the Molltach handle. You can see on both sides of the panel view a shade of darkness that represents the hallway leading to wherever. GHEDE [to herself]: Now to go on an asshole hunt! Panel 6: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. Just as she's about to move to the left, we hear a loud banging emanating from off-panel. She turns her head back behind her, trying to figure out the source of the explosion. Page 8, 6 Panels- Kagu-Tsuchi's Mountaintop Dwelling Panel 1-2: We start in Panel 1 with a close-up on our titular heroine moments after the action of the last panel of the previous page. You can hear off-panel the sliding of the sword's blade back out of its holster. In Panel 2, the layout pulls back to find her expertly jumping over a series of three sharp flaming wooden arrows crossing from right to left, slicing each of them in half. Panel 3-4: Continuing on the same action that was visible in Panel 2, we see an action shot of the surviving arrow halves as they crash into the side of a wooden wall ten feet behind where Ghede was. The fire emanating from each of them creating a pool of light that illuminates a bust of someone lying on a pedestal next to the weapons. In Panel 4, Ghede looks on with Minaj nearby, trying to surmise the situation in full. GHEDE [translated from Japanese, to Kagu-Tsuchi; Panel 4]: Nice welcome, Kagu... Panel 5-6: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. She flicks her right hand up to the sky, causing a little spark from the tips of her fingers. The action immediately sparking a sudden illumination of the hallway that doesn't come into full view till Panel 6. It's here that we see the full scope of the hallway in front of her, including more of the concrete busts that we saw only briefly in Panel 3. GHEDE [sarcastic eyebrow, looking around at the place; Panel 6]: The interior isn't much to be desired!
