Ghede: Guerrier Extraordinaire #8: Pages 15-16

Page 15, 4 Panels- Kagu-Tsuchi's Mountaintop Dwelling Panel 1: With her body straightened back out, our titular heroine glides off from the scene in a heroically badass fashion. Behind her, a powerful explosion engulfs the concrete Ozabot in a ball of flames. Panel 2: Cut to an elevated shot moments later. We see Ghede with her trusty shapeshifting sword (which has regenerated to its full form) making her way back to the doorway, which can be seen in view near the top left area of the panel view. The fireball emanating from the blast slowly appears from the right side pushing towards her. Panel 3-4: Back to a ground level shot of our heroine just as she's about to enter the doorway, which frames the shot specifically on Ghede and the small area that it encompasses. The fireball still visible in the background behind her, though not as bright in intensity as it was earlier. She tilts her head up and to the right of the panel view in a heightened heroic pose. In Panel 4, stuck in this position, Ghede flashes a cocky smirk in the same direction that we saw in the previous panel. All the while, the fireball behind her has settled down to smoldering wreckage in the background. GHEDE [translated from Haitian Creole, chuckling; Panel 4]: Ah, love the bang… Page 16, 7 Panels- Kagu-Tsuchi's Mountaintop Dwelling Panel 1: Same setting/layout as the last panel of the previous page. We see Ghede tilted her head back down to center. Her body just beginning to make the upward ascension through the doorway and out into the rest of the compound proper. The cocky smile that she had in Panel 1 has settled now into a blank focused slate, along with the rest of her face. GHEDE [translated from Haitian Creole]: Now to hunt the putz! Panel 2: Cut to a profile shot of the Haitian guerrier moments later. She's further up the hallway compared to what we saw in the previous panel. The lighted section behind her, along with the other busts, start to become a distant sight in the background as our heroine proceeds to take in the rest of her surroundings in search of the target. Panel 3-4: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. A moment later, at the end of the hallway, her eyes shift over to the right as it bends into another separate hallway. It's patched in black, similar to what we had seen a few pages before. At this point, you can see Ghede sliding her Molltach cautiously back into its holster. In Panel 4, with the sword back in place and the area 3/4-covered in darkness, she raises her free hand up to the sky and openly "FWIPS!" another spark to light her way. GHEDE [muttering to herself in thought; Panel 3]: I know Kagu's currently mortal driving Kazzie. But, I remember correctly, there's usually a little crack of the human that can be found to guide my way in. GHEDE [Cont.; Panel 4]: All I have to do is find it. Panel 5: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. We're a minute past and little further up the new hallway than we were in Panel 4. The area around her completely illuminated with the same black-violet color that we saw a couple of pages ago. Suddenly, the setting around our titular heroine begins to shake, breaking her concentration. Panel 6-7: Same setting as the previous panel. The layout though has changed somewhat, tightening in specifically on Ghede as the shaking continues. Her eyes looking up toward the ceiling for any type of debris that might come as the shaking reaches its apex. In Panel 7, as quick as it popped up, the shaking stops. Ghede looks down around her cautiously. Her hand once more touching the top of Minaj's handle. GHEDE [slight pause, cautious; Panel 6]: Six seconds...could be the Retou. GHEDE [Cont., shaking her head; Panel 7]: Nah. Probably just aftershocks from the I-B denigration.
