The Boo-Ya! #6: Pages 5-6

Page 5, 7 Panels- The Boo-Ya!, Somewhere over Jupiter Panel 1-3: A three-part set of panels that start out in the same all-white setting that we ended the last page in. The real setting starts to take shape by the time we reach Panel 2, showing partially a gray and black ceiling with a string of three lights that move up to down in the panel view. It fully comes into view by the time we reach Panel 3. ROBIN CARTWRIGHT [Off-Panel, slurry; Panel 1]: Na-na-na-na-na-naa na-na na... ROBIN CARTWRIGHT [Cont., Panel 2]: Na-na-na-na-na-naa na-na na... ROBIN CARTWRIGHT [Cont., Panel 3]: Na-na-na-na-na-naa na-na na...Hey, Macare-- Panel 4: Cut to a shot of Ms. Cartwright laying down on a bed on top of a series of white and blue bedsheets. She's dressed in the same weathered and dirty hoodie that we saw her in during the end of Issue 5. Her eyes are now opened wide, welcomed back into whatever type of reality she's been thrust into. ROBIN CARTWRIGHT [jilted]: GAHH! Panel 5: Same setting as the previous panel. The layout shifts slightly toward the side, showing Robin up off the bed and into a seated position on the side. She rubs her hands over her face, trying to shake off the last vestiges of sleep from her face. In the background, you can see a little more of the interior to the room, including a poster of a man in aqua blue skin and rocker clothes. ROBIN CARTWRIGHT [to herself]: Where am I? For that matter...how the hell did the Macarena get stuck in my head? Panel 6-7: A two-part set of panels centered on the same setting and layout as the previous panel. In Panel 6, a few beats later, she lowers her hands to her side and starts to take in a view of the area. It doesn't take her long, however (namely Panel 7), that she sniffs the air at the presence of a mystery aroma. She suddenly realizes at that point something is off in her locale. Her handsplaced on top of her knees gently as she speaks. ROBIN CARTWRIGHT [dismissively, Panel 6]: Probably one of the guards' listening to those stupid radio stations who think bad '90s dance music is classic-- ROBIN CARTWRIGHT [suddenly curious and confused, Panel 7]: 'Kay, this doesn't look like a prison. Page 6, 5 Panels- The Boo-Ya!, somewhere over Jupiter Panel 1-2: Same setting/layout as the last panel of the previous page. A few moments have passed, and we see Robin standup from the edge of the bed. She has the same look of curiousity and confusion on her face. The young woman sniffs around in the air, looking first to the right and then to the left in Panel 2 in order to try to find the source of the mystery aroma. In whole, Ms. Cartwright only takes in a handful of feet from the bed. ROBIN CARTWRIGHT [Cont., Panel 1]: Doesn't smell like one either, unless they built it near Jess' secret stash. ROBIN CARTWRIGHT [puzzled, Panel 2]: Though I don't remember it smelling like rancid ass whenever I toked it... Panel 3: Same setting/layout as Panel 2. Suddenly, our human protagonist is startled by the sudden sound of a command from Capaldi coming in from the top right corner of the panel view. You can see her leap up slightly in great shock, letting out a guttural response that is fueled by the aforementioned surprise. CAPALDI [to Robin, in a pleasant brogue]: Good morning, human bird. ROBIN CARTWRIGHT: EEP! Panel 4: Cut to a shot back closer to the bed a second later. Robin clutches the top of a end table and chest of drawers that lie next to it. Her eyes gazing up toward the ceiling, trying to get her bearings back again. There's the sound of banging that comes from her crashing into the piece of furniture as she speaks. ROBIN CARTWRIGHT [stunned]: Hello. Are--Are you...? CAPALDI [interjecting apologetically]: An A.I.? That I am. The name's Capaldi. I was built by the youngone who saved you, Staehlia...my apologies for the intrusion. I didn't mean to startle ya from your sleep. ROBIN CARTWRIGHT [Bubble 2]: I was just waking up. Where the hell am I? CAPALDI [Bubble 2]: Welcome to the Boo-Ya!, human bird. We are currently passing over the planet you know as Jupiter. Ms. Staehlia told me to keep an eye on you for when you woke up. ROBIN CARTWRIGHT [Bubble 2]: 'Kay. There's...so many strands of weird, and immense awesomeness, for me to navigate. Panel 5: Close-up on Ms. Cartwright a couple of seconds later as she straightens herself up once more. You can see her right hand gently dusting the side of her hoodie as she speaks. In the background, you can also see a section of the dark black and gray walls behind her, along with part of the end table that we saw partially back in Panel 4. ROBIN CARTWRIGHT [Cont.]: First, what the hell is the Boo-Ya!?/ And second...what do you mean, "woke up?"
