Page 1, 4 Panels- Hallway of the Royal Palace, Capitol, 2 Quinlas Later
Panel 1: Cut to a still image taken from the military satellite that we saw near the end of Issue 5, which is heavily damaged with a part of the left part of it in flames. You can see the newscrawl moving from right to left in the bottom of the panel view, along with the chyron reading, "Explosion on Station 62-A Set to Be Solved, According to Investigators."
NEWSCASTER [Off-Panel]: "Authorities are close to discovering what caused the explosion two quinlas ago at the military's R&D station orbiting the colony moon Jactan, which felled two dohzeen scientists and military personnel plus over fifty hobbled. The possibility of terrorism has not been ruled out, though the consensus is..."
Panel 2: We move to another still image from the same broadcast a moment later. This time, it focuses on paramedics inside the station, tending to some of the sick and injured inside the top-shaped space station. You can see, on the right of the panel view, a large hole in the metal wall that is patched by a mini force field powered by two metal X's placed on each side.
NEWSCASTER [Cont., Off-Panel]: "...that the attack was a robbery, connected by rebel group FU. If so, it would mark the 5th such robbery of a TA Military station in the last 3 monats. It is unknown at this time what was stolen, a pattern that was indicative of the other 4 robberies at military stations near Crusttyine, Jieohnus, and MX-5. Some investigators tell TANews the explosion was caused by a busted ecclasanium converter in the station's engines."
Panel 3-4: Cut to another still shot from the same news broadcast, moving now to a shot from outside the TA Parliament on the Capitol. It's a B-Roll showing a group of MPs heading up the long staircase into the building's entrance. In the next panel, we move to a shot of the newscaster (a tall, octopus-armed humanoid with tendrils like a mustache) seated behind their desk in the studio at the end of the news story, moving on to the next one.
NEWSCASTER [Cont., Off-Panel; Panel 3]: "The Committee on Defense are set to be briefed on the latest in the next horut at the Royal Palace with the High Chancellor and Security Commander Qui'Clan to finalize the findings with the investigative team at Station 62-A." NEWSCASTER [Cont., sternly; Panel 4]: "We will bring you the press conference from outside the Palace once it begins."
Page 2, 6 Panels- Hallway of the Royal Palace, Capitol
Panel 1: Same setting as the last panel of the previous page. The layout widens a little more to take in the rest of the hallway just as a contingent of people pass the display with the holographic TV broadcast. The only part of the newscaster you can see through the sea of security agents and staff is their face, which is now lighter than it was in the issue's first page.
NEWSCASTER [with a tiny fanged smile]: "In Entertainment news, is there a disruption in the tri-coupling Tij'Ahns?..."
Panel 2: Cut to a front facing shot a second later, showing MP Aharons and Xamaeleon (concealed in his cover alias, Mr. Xjliang) walking side-by-side with a phalanx of security behind them in the background. The politician is looking over a folder filled with documents as they walk while "Mr. Xjliang" looks forward.
MR. XJLIANG [mental thought bubble, to MP Aharons]: Sorry about using the bomb-a to escape, boss. One of the soldiers triggered the station's automatic lockdown sequence before I could ice him. It was the only way I could slip out of there without... MP AHARONS [interjecting, mental thought bubble to Mr. Xjliang]: It's fine, minion. The FU cover story should sufficiently cover your momentary...incompetence in the eyes of the media. Were you able to secure the Spear? MR. XJLIANG [mental thought bubble, Bubble 2]: Yes, sir...
Panel 3-5: A three-part set of panels that are centered around the same setting and layout as the previous panel. To the outside world, it looks like the MP is in silent contemplation, going over the official documents. Mr. Xjliang reaches into his coat pocket and, in Panel 4, pulls out his comm and places it to his ear as if he were answering a call from someone. At Panel 5, the two of them stop upon reaching the security entrance to the classified wing of the building. The MP closes the folder and slips it underneath his arm.
MR. XJLIANG [Cont., mental thought bubble; Panel 3]: It's in protective stasis in my ship's cargo hold, awaiting whatever you've got planned next. MP AHARONS [mental thought bubble, Panel 3]: Good. We can discuss it after the meeting. MP AHARONS [Cont., mental thought bubble; Panel 3, Bubble 2]: Till then, try to give off the appearance of being busy. We have news cameras filming us, so we need... MR. XJLIANG [interjecting, mental thought bubble; Panel 3, Bubble 2]: Say no more, boss! MR. XJLIANG [mental thought bubble, Panel 4]: What do you want me to do with that lovely chicla of yours I've seen ya with...S'amahnta? MR. XJLIANG [Cont. mental thought bubble, Panel 5]: You want me to keep an eye on her, see if she's blabbing to anyone? MP AHARONS [mental thought bubble, Panel 5]: A rare excellent idea, minion.
Panel 6: We move to an action shot of the MP, taken from behind and over his shoulder to reveal the security barrier which resembles the turnstiles of a subway station protected by an invisible energy barrier. You can see off in the distance more hallway with a rightward turn five steps away leading to the HC's Situation Room.
MP AHARONS [Cont. mental thought bubble, turned toward "Mr. Xjliang" with his hand moving toward the ID touch scan that secures the area]: Don't engage her though, at least not yet. Just find out if she's gonna be a threat to our plans, and tweet back at me. MR. XJLIANG [mental thought bubble, Off-Panel]: Aye-aye, boss.
