The Boo-Ya! #7: Pages 17-18
Page 17, 7 Panels- Secure Zoen, Ervaht Panel 1-3: A three-part set of panels that center on the Madam and Robin in the same setting and layout as the last panel of the previous page. The two of them watch as the video continues on over the course of a few minutes, highlighting sections of it for the reader. In Panel 1, you can see a bright flash of orange pierce the sky behind the Battlecruiser. In the screen on the next panel, it dissipates and in the next panel there appears a large black hole forming behind the ship. Through each of the three panels, you can see Robin steadily become more and more frightened by what she sees. THE MADAM [Cont., jaw agape; Panel 1]: ...big! Panel 4: Cut back to the Plutonian a moment later, addressing the pair of our heroines on the other side of the table with a steady voice and demeanor. All the while, the sounds of explosions and metal compacting into the black hole can be heard off-panel from the video as it continues playing. S'AMAHNTA: The Spear uses individual targeting sensors placed on a nearby planet or moon, tapping into its electromagnetic energy. Which in turn create centralized black holes that destroy everything within a 6 myiet radius of where it was targeted. Panel 5: We move to a shot of Ms. Cartwright's face a moment later, holding the Choi'nzz glass after taking another drink. She has a look of slight befuddlement at the use of the word "myiet" at the end of S'amahnta's previous line. The bright green glow of the three-dimensional holo-screen fades slightly in correspondence to the end of the film. ROBIN CARTWRIGHT [confused]: "Myiet?" Panel 6: Back to S'am in a similar setting and layout to Panel 4. She leans forward and reaches out toward the basket of noichas at the center of the table as she speaks. Her right arm is primarily out of view, just pass the data disk, in terms of the panel. S'AMAHNTA [explanatory, to Robin]: In Earth English, you may known it as "Meters." ROBIN CARTWRIGHT [Off-Panel, to S'amahnta]: Ah...whoa! Panel 7: Same setting as what we saw in Panel 5. The layout widens back slightly to incorporate the Madam's presence next to her in the left side of the panel view. She has lowered her glass jug back down to the countertop and starts to reach for one of the noichas herself as she finishes her thought. ROBIN CARTWRIGHT [Cont., thinking to herself]: I should probably learn the rest of these alien idioms so I don't sound like a bloody moron. THE MADAM [curious, to S'amahnta]: What the hells would a politico want with a big boomer like that, besides cooking up a war? Page 18, 6 Panels- Secure Zoen, Ervaht Panel 1: Back to the Plutonian at the end of her chewing in a similar setting and layout as we saw near the end of the previous page. She shrugs slightly, swallowing the last bit of food down her long blue throat as she leans back against the cushion of her seat. S'AMAHNTA [to the Madam]: I'm not certain. I theorize that it may have something to do with the Beschuldigig beginning in two rohtlas. Panel 2: Cut to Robin at her seat a second later. She's visibly confused by the last word of the statement, scrunching her face slightly and scratching the side of her head. You can see the 3/4-full glass of Choi'nzz seated in front of her on the edge of the table. ROBIN CARTWRIGHT [confused/curious]: Beschuldigig? Panel 3-4: A two-part set of panels that centers back on the Madam seated next to our human protagonist. In Panel 3, the Killeman glances in Ms. Cartwright's direction to address her at first while reaching for her own Choi'nzz glass. Then, in Panel 4, she turns her attention back to S'am. Her left hand firmly gripping the stein as she speaks. THE MADAM [to Robin, Panel 3]: It's how the Alliance elects their leader. A little boring theater, a little vicious bloodsport to satisfy the idiot masses every seven rohtlas. THE MADAM [Cont. to S'amahnta, not heavily convinced; Panel 4]: I fail to see how this affects me or my ship though. It's not like whatever he's gonna do is going to-- Panel 5-6: A two-part set of panels that center back on S'amahnta a slit second later. In Panel 5, she leans forward from the cushion toward her lover, shaking her head in slight disbelief at the Madam's casual dismissal. Her right hand moves up rom her lap out toward the data disk, pressing a button off-panel in Panel 6 as she speaks. S'AMAHNTA [finishing the Madam's thought; Panel 5]: Hurt your bottom line? I know it's easy to dismiss the rhetoric of MPs as hollow theater. But such a tactic will invariably harm you, my dealuv. When it comes to Atom, my dealuv... S'AMAHNTA [Cont., with a cautious warning; Panel 6]: You cannot afford to give him a dismissive stance.
