The Boo-Ya! #8: Pages 13-14

Page 13, 6 Panels- Dr. Arxin's Laboratory, 5 floors beneath the Docking Bay, Mientahl

Panel 1: Cut to a shot of Dr. Arxin looking on with a fairly unsympathetic demeanor at the Killeman as she situates the device on her body. Her right arm is extended and her right forefinger pointing towards one part of the device as she speaks. You can see, on the side, Staehlia walking toward them at that moment.

DR. ARXIN [to Nessa, corrective]: Besides, you can always use the size adjustor on the left strap if you feel too constricted.

Panel 2-3: A two-part set of panels that shifts back to Nessa in a similar setting and layout to what we saw at the end of the previous page. In Panel 2, she glances down in the direction of the strap, feeling for the aforementioned button that is hidden from view of the reader. A couple of seconds later in Panel 3, coinciding with the sound of a click emanating from the button, a pair of guns are unleashed on both sides of the pack to her surprise pointed toward the Doctor and the Madam.

Panel 4: Back to the other side of the table where we see Dr. Arxin taking a step back toward the desk behind them, along with the others in view, extending her arms out in a surrendering fashion. Her mind quickly trying to come up with the code to counteract what's going on. You can hear, as this all goes on, the sound of the two guns revving up toward firing.

STAEHLIA [surprised, to the right of Dr. Arxin]: Proton guns?? THE MADAM [looking for an answer/angry, to the left of Dr. Arxin]: What the flark were you doing strapping two guns on an eibett'n invisibility cloak?! DR. ARXIN [dismissive, to the Madam]: It's the emergency button in case things went south on the battlefield. One that's just above the one Nessa pressed. Now... DR. ARXIN [thinking to herself of the code, Bubble 2]: What's the shutdown code again? Eri--Eri--

Panel 5: Close-up on An'x's face a couple of seconds later. Her face suddenly comes to life upon remembering the code, which is signified in the highly excited recitation of the code. In the background, as this goes on, you can partially see the gaze of the Titanian watching her speak with a deal of concern toward the whole situation.

DR. ARXIN [Cont., realization]: Erifdloh! ERIFDLOH!!

Panel 6: Same setting/layout as Panel 3. It composes mostly of an action shot of the two guns moving back into the backpack slowly. Nessa can be seen looking over to her right with a noticeably improved attitude toward the device as a whole.

DR. ARXIN [to Nessa]: You did that on purpose, didn't you? NESSA [shaking her head, to Dr. Arxin]: Naw, Doc. I'm only that vengeful if someone pisses me off. DR. ARXIN [Bubble 2]: Good point...

Page 14, 4 Panels- Dr. Arxin's Laboratory, 5 floors beneath the Docking Bay, Mientahl

Panel 1: Cut to Nessa with a dismissive shrug at the whole scene, chuckling at her compatriots and the Doctor's level of panic while she clicks the appropriate button that magically bulks the backpack enough to . It's the same setting and layout as the second panel of the previous page. She flashes a grin as she speaks, moving her hand in the same direction of the strap in order to press the right button this time.

NESSA [Cont.]: Now...let's get this twinsechstin over with!

Panel 2-4: A three-part set of panels that take a full scope of the rest of the room from the Killeman's perspective. It starts out in Panel 2 as the usual layout and color scheme as any of the other panels that have been in this setting. A second later, in Panel 3, it suddenly turns completely blue. The faces and clothing features of the fairly amazed onlookers inside turning into a mix of oranges, red and purples to signify body heat (ala nightvision goggles). In Panel 4, after a few minutes have elapsed, you can see the layout tilt downward as Nessa views her own bright red-purple body heat signature from her palms.

DR. ARXIN [matter-of-factly, to Nessa; Panel 2]: Now, to activate the flesh concealing frequency on the Invisicloak, you must press the button on the dead center of the pack. NESSA [Off-Panel, Panel 2]: Gotcha, Doc! SOUND EFFECT [Off-Panel, bottom right of the panel; Panel 2]: CLICK! THE MADAM [standing to the far left of the group, curious; Panel 4]: How are ya feeling? STAEHLIA [standing to the far right of the group, Panel 4]: Any weird side effects? DR. ARXIN [dead center of the group, Panel 4]: If so, you can always press the same button and the frequency will click off immediately. NESSA [confidently, Panel 4]: I'm good, guhWHOA... NESSA [tripped out; Panel 4, Bubble 2]: Bett'n An'x, you outdid yourself here!
