Panel 1: Action shot of Mr. Allen hopping out of the flying ship a few seconds later once it's landed on the turf. You can see him grab the strap belonging to his messenger bag at the same moment he makes this movement, along with a little strip of land on the other side of the Potomac in the background.
Panel 2-3: A two-part set of panels that follows Grem as he moves from left to right toward the mystery object ,which pops up at the right edge of Panel 3 in the form of a burned out shell belonging to a bomb that went off. He looks on at the piece of evidence with a great deal of curiosity and a sense that something feels off.
GREM [to himself, Panel 2]: All noise, yet not a lot of scorched earth or... GREM [effect, Panel 3]: SNIFF! SNIFF! GREM [Cont., Panel 3]: Or burnt TNT smell. Maybe it was just some kids getting early fireworks practice for New Year's
Panel 4-5: Close-up on Mr. Allen a few moments later, standing in front of the burned out shell. He's bent down in a catcher's position, examining the center of the device while also looking out from his periphery at whoever may come his way. His right hand is just starting to open up his bag in order to pick something up. Panel 1: Action shot showing Grem being sent backward by the force of a powerful explosion that occurs off-panel left. You can see, amongst all of the carnage, chunks of dirt and grass getting sprayed every which way as a result of the blast. Some of which hits the trouser legs and shoes of the inventor in that little snapshot in time.
Panel 2-3: A two-part set of panels that showcases the Irishman tumbling and rolling like a barrel up toward the edge of the river in the top right corners of each panel, protected only by a plastic airbag covering that pops up from the jacket. With each snapshot of the man's body hitting the grass, you can see a "WHUMP!" and a "BWHUMP!" pop up right above it to signify the mixing sound of plastic and grass.
