The Boo-Ya! #9: Pages 19-20
Page 19, 6 Panels- Holodeck, the Boo-Ya!
Panel 1: We move to the end of the montage, focused squarely on our human heroine gasping for breath, locked in the armor plating setting from the last panel of the previous page. Her face is covered in a great deal of sweat, which she tries to wipe off with her free non-armor protected arm. You can see, over her shoulder in the background, the sound of a door opening and An'x stepping through it.
ROBIN CARTWRIGHT [Cont., exhausted]: That is...soo better than Crossfit! DR. ARXIN [Off-Panel, confused]: Cross-fit? ROBIN CARTWRIGHT [Bubble 2]: It's...basically...a sweaty cult.
Panel 2-3: A two-part set of panels that opens with an over-the-shoulder shot of Ms. Cartwright, looking at her teacher as she approaches her position (which she does alongside Robin by the time we reach Panel 3). In Panel 3, her train of thought is briefly interrupted by a gust of wind that emanates from the armor, cleaning her whole body ala the self-cleaning coat from Back to the Future II. In the course of both panels, you can see the setting around them fade away to a basic black behind them with a doorway off-panel right.
ROBIN CARTWRIGHT [Cont. glancing at the armored chest, to Dr. Arxin; Panel 2]: Does the armor setting have a self-cleaning feature? Just so I can get ready for-- ROBOTIC VOICE [from the armor plate, Panel 2]: Self clean mode activated... ROBOTIC VOICE [from the armor plate, Panel 3]: Self clean mode complete! ROBIN CARTWRIGHT [pleasantly surprised and giddy; Panel 3]: It has a Psychic siri…shiny!!
Panel 4: Cut to a close-up of Dr. Arxin a moment later. She flashes a look of understanding toward the young human, patting her on the left shoulder in an empathetic manner. All punctuated by a slight grin that comes on her face as she speaks.
DR. ARXIN [encouragingly]: It was a good first day of training, Robin. The first of many in the future.
Panel 5: We move to the same type of close-up on Ms. Cartwright a second later. As she speaks, you can see the armor plating covering her chest and upper torso start to disappear back into the Arm-or, along with the armored plating over her right arm.
ROBIN CARTWRIGHT [weary, to Dr. Arxin]: Oh, I don't wanna think about that now. Just get me to a nice fluffy bed...or a chocolate fudge bath, whichever's possible.
Panel 6: Cut to a shot of the two of them starting to walk out of the Holodeck in the same standing configuration that we saw them in near the top of the page (Dr. Arxin on the right, Robin on the left). An'x chuckles heartily and smiles widely at the statement. Her arm now fully wrapped over the human's shoulder as they walk out of the room. You can see Ms. Cartwright grimace slightly in regard to the hard pressure suddenly placed on her back.
DR. ARXIN: I've never heard of a "chocolate fudge bath"... ROBIN CARTWRIGHT [through the grimacing]: It's a dream that...I'm hoping can be recreated by a replicator (if you have one). DR. ARXIN [Bubble 2]: Haha! I haven't quite perfected that tech. But I'm sure an equivalent meal can be put together in the D--

Panel 1: Cut to a shot of the two of them exiting the room side-by-side a few minutes later. The background of the room visible through the doorway can be seen shifting into a base level similar to the interior of a Federation holodeck. Dr. Arxin looks up and notices the message coming from the ceiling area, while Robin is busy in her own head.
CAPALDI [pleasantly, to Dr. Arxin and Robin]: Robin...Ms. Ahn-'yx, cap'n wanted me to tell you that we're ten minuyats away from Kos. DR. ARXIN [courteous, to Capaldi]: Thanks, Capaldi. We'll pop over after I get Ms. Robin situated in the D.C.
Panel 2-4: A three-part set of panels that centers on the same type of layout and setting as the previous panel, moving toward the D.C. Everything is normal and in roughly the same type of emotional arrangement in Panel 2. Then, in Panel 3, we see the good Doctor glance over to an electronic display located on her arm to check something. A few moments afterward, in Panel 4, she fianlly looks over for the first time at our human heroine and the question she utters.
ROBIN CARTWRIGHT [curious, unsure how to phrase it to Dr. Arxin; Panel 4]: I'm curious, An'x. Does the Arm-or thing...I mean, if I ever get caught up in something really bad, would it... DR. ARXIN [interjecting to Robin, knowing what she means; Panel 4]: Would it be enough to protect you from the cold embrace of death?
Panel 5: We shift to a close-up of An'x's face a few moments later. She glances up, tilting her helmeted head toward the ceiling again as she walks, in a flash of ponderous thought. The ceiling providing a section of the background in the scene, along with part of the nearby wall as they pass by it.
DR. ARXIN [Cont., thinking]: Hmmm...potentially. It's not really something I thought to test on back at the lab.
