James Brighton Society, Chapter 5: Pages 15-16
Page 15, 6 Panels- Sen. Connally's Office, Hart Senate Office Building, Washington D.C.
Panel 1-2: A two-part set of panels that centers around the same setting as the last panel of the previous page. In Panel 1, Grem opens the bag and starts to search for something inside while still addressing the Receptionist right then and there. In the next panel, moments later, the layout widens as Mr. Allen places a metal box with a button on top square in the middle of the reception desk.
GREM [Cont., Panel 1]: Maybe a little something to brighten up your apartment or house or...recharge station. GREM [Cont., Panel 2]: Wherever you may lay your hat.
Panel 3: We shift back to the Receptionist a second later, examining the metal cube in front of her. Her face stoically unchanged compared to what we saw at the second-to-last panel of the previous page, splitting her gaze between the box and the immortal Irishman. Her body is also as mechanically stiff and robotic as it was at that point in time.
Panel 4: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. After a time of examination, the mecha Receptionist tilts her head up from the box and squarely in the direction of Grem. Her facial features and body retaining the same characteristics as what we saw in Panel 3.
RECEPTIONIST [robotically, to Grem]: I'm sorry, but you must first schedule an appointment before you're allowed to... GREM [Off-Panel, to himself]: Yeah, thought that'd happen!
Panel 5-6: A two-part set of panels that centers on Grem's face as this all goes on. In Panel 5, his gaze is pulled over by the sound of faint chuckling emanating from one of the main offices off-panel. In the next panel, a second later, Grem turns his attention back to the Receptionist with an air of sympathy about what he's gonna do next.
GREM [thought bubble, Panel 5]: Hello, joker dúr... GREM [to Receptionist, Panel 6]: I'm really sorry for what I'm about to do here. I hold no animus toward the Mech community. On the plus side though...the effect's quite temporary!

Panel 1-3: A three-part set of panels that starts on a side shot of the front desk over the course of a handful of seconds after the end of the previous page. In Panel 1, he presses the button on the top of the box, releasing a wave of energy that stuns the Receptionist, knocking it out in Panel 2 as he leaps over the side of the desk. In Panel 3, Grem lands with a hard "THUD!" on his feet, looking out in front of him.
GREM [Cont., Panel 1]: Just need a few minutes.
Panel 4: Cut to an interior shot of Mr. Briggs' office moments later. He's a short man in a dark blue suit with dark hair and blue eyes. He has an overall set of looks that wouldn't be classified as "classically attractive." Charles looks out to his right, reacting nonchalantly to the action outside as he continues his conversation. The background behind him is just a slice of the lime green wallpapered wall, along with some nondescript framed photos.
CHARLES BRIGGS [to the person on the phone in a Southern accent]: Yeah, the missus is very excited for the party on New Year's. She's gonna be downtown looking at dresses... CHARLES BRIGGS [Cont., Bubble 2]: Yeah, I can hope. But you know how women can be with pretty dresses and a full pocketbook. SOUND EFFECT [Off-Panel]: THUMP!
Panel 5: We move to a shot of the immortal Irishman standing in the now smashed doorway, staring at the Chief of Staff in a stoically bad ass fashion with his arms gently at his side. His body illuminated by the sight of lights from the hallway outside. He flashes a sly grin at the bureaucrat.
GREM [to Charles]: You look...about as weasely as I thought you would!
