The Boo-Ya! #10: Pages 17-18
Page 17, 6 Panels- Orbit above Capitol/MP Aharons' Parliament Office, Capitol
Panel 1-3: A three-part set of panels that moves to an exterior shot of the installation orbiting Capitol called the Wahl, a long metallic ring that encircles the planet. In particular, one of its entry points where we see our titular ship passing through during two of the panels. You can see it formally pass through the laser grid by the time we reach Panel 3, along with gray landscape of the planet below to the right of the panel view.
THE MADAM [from the ship, Panel 3]: We're through--punch it!
Panel 4: Cut to an interior shot of Xamaeleon (in his Chief of Staff facade "Mr. Xjliang") a minute later standing in a room, looking at a radar display on his comm. The pale green of the office floor can be seen in the background, along with his dark blue suit and the door off in the distance a handful of steps behind him.
THE MADAM [Cont., caption]: If this is the end...let's make it a bett'n awesome one.
Panel 5: We move to a shot of Atom seated at his desk, editing his speech on his computer with the flat hovering glass screen. He's well dressed with a tie on and a long sleeved silk white shirt. You can see his coat hung behind him in the chair, along with the wall and part of the bookcase to his right.
MP AHARONS [notices his minion in front of him, curious; to "Mr. Xjliang"]: Trigger #3 go off? "MR. XJLIANG" [Off-Panel, to MP Aharons]: Not yet, boss. That's still an horut out, last check. MP AHARONS [Bubble 2]: So, why precisely are you gracing my office and not doing your job?
Panel 6: Same setting/layout as Panel 4, along with the same background. For the first time in the page, the Martian merc looks up from the screen to properly address his boss with the rest of his statement.
"MR. XJLIANG" [Cont.]: On top of examining the triggers, I've also been using my privileges as your Chief of Staff to scan the entrances on the Wahl for any pirate ships coming our way. Mostly a precautionary measure I cooked up, in case the Boo-Ya! decided to pop in.
Page 18, 6 Panels- MP Aharons' Parliament Office, Capitol
Panel 1: Same setting/layout as the second-to-last panel of the previous page, along with the same background. The MP is mildly intrigued by the story, but still flashes wit his right hand the "get on with it" signal to his minion.
MP AHARONS [wanting more, to "Mr. Xjliang"]: Commendable initiative, Xamaeleon. Did you find them?
Panel 2: We move back to "Mr. Xjliang" in an action shot. The setting and layout around him, as well as the background, the same as it was at the end of the previous page taking a step forward toward his boss. His hand can be seen pocketing the electronic device inside his jacket pocket.
"MR. XJLIANG" [truthfully, to MP Aharons]: Potentially. The layout of the ship is similar, but the code's different than the last time I tangoed with them on Ervaht.
Panel 3: Cut back to Mr. Aharons a few beats later, standing in front of his chair. He reaches over and picks up a super-thin glass tablet containing his speech from an electronic pad located next to the keyboard. His interest level at the minion's story has settled to a solid balance, pleased that any potential danger isn't imminent. Though also prepared for the worse.
MP AHARONS: But they're coming this way? Will this disrupt my schedule with the Consortium, or the speech?
Panel 4: Back to "Mr. Xjliang", stationary this time in a similar setting and layout (along with the same background) to what we saw in Panel 2. He shakes his head quickly at the question, watching his boss as he puts on his coat off-panel.
"MR. XJLIANG" [with confidence]: Yes and not in the slightest, boss. I'll stay by here, keep 'em distracted if (or when) they pop in.
Panel 5-6: Action shot in Panel 5 of the MP, taken on a side view of the same setting and layout as Panel 3, looping the right coat sleeve through its corresponding arm. The left arm pressing the tablet device against his stomach and the coat as he speaks. We move in the next panel to a close-up of Atom's face moments later, staring daggers at the Martian merc with the coat now firmly on his body.
MP AHARONS [slight pleased nod, Panel 5]: Good, minion, good. Delay them long enough for the third trigger to turn on. MP AHARONS [Cont., Panel 6]: Once that happens, notify me via comm, and I'll do the rest from my end. If you can do it during MP Cie;v's speech, all the better. They were always a painful bore...
