James Brighton Society, Chapter 7: Pages 13-14
Page 13, 6 Panels- Grem's Apartment Library, Washington D.C.
Panel 1-2: A two-part set of panels that centers around an action shot, following Mr. Allen as he stands up from his chair and moves toward a nearby bookcase (which is visible in both panels). His gaze is shifted down toward Tasha's direction, denoting that he's been on a higher floor compared to her this entire time. In Panel 2, a few moments later, he stops and slides the book into an opened gap in the middle rack.
TASHA [Off-Panel, curious; Panel 1]: How's that ironic? GREM [nodding, to Tasha; Panel 1]: In Celtic culture, Donn is the god of the dead who dwells on an island off the Irish coast called Tech Duinn, welcoming in the dead. My shrine's a symbol of gratitude toward the god, and a wish he treats those I dearly love well. TASHA [Off-Panel; Panel 2]: That sounds more sweet than ironic. GREM [Cont., Panel 2]: It's an Irish irony which, admittedly, is hard to discern for anyone who isn't Irish to comprehend. TASHA [Off-Panel, Panel 2]: Or immortal! GREM [playfully; Panel 2, Bubble 2]: Or highly versed in mythology, in my case...yep.
Panel 3: Slight close-up on the inventor a second later, looking over the string of books on the rack in front of him. He looks over via the periphery to address Tasha as he speaks. You can see, on the bindings of the books, titles ranging from Jefferson to Marx to Shakespeare to Kālidāsa and numerous other authors the world over.
GREM: So, how's the research going?
Panel 4: Cut to a shot of Tasha at the table, standing and looking over a series of documents located on the upstage part of it. She shakes her head, examining a pair of the papers that lie within her line of sight. You can see a touch of exhaustion and sweat on her face due to all the work she had done up to this point.
TASHA: I know the Magog are twin, extremely powerful 20 foot demons who come out of concrete shells between Christmas and New Year's looking to destroy the planet. Nothing tying them with the JBS though. At least not yet...
Panel 5-6: A two-part set of panels in the same setting and layout as the previous panel. In Panel 5, the former Detective follows the same type of action beats that we saw in Panel 4. Though her face changes from dismissive to intrigued, finding the first threads of a connection at that point. In Panel 6, a smile comes across her face, confident of the strength of that connection.
TASHA [in realization, to herself; Panel 5]: Of course... TASHA [chuckling, Panel 6]: Of course, that's it! How did I not think of that sooner?

Panel 1: We move back to Grem in the same position, with the same background behind him, that we left him in near the end of the previous page. He has his right hand gripped on one of the books, and his gaze is back toward Ms. Randolph with a mix of excitement and intrigue over the source of her laughter.
GREM [to Tasha, with raised eyebrow]: I know that look...what is it?
Panel 2: Cut back to Tasha in a similar setting and layout to the end of the previous page. The former Detective is standing in roughly the same position that she was in at that moment, getting one last reading of the documents as she speaks. You can hear off-panel the sound of footsteps on the floor coming from the immortal Irishman moving down to meet her.
TASHA [to Grem]: I just remembered a tale my father used to tell during one of his sermons.
Panel 3: We shift back to Gremlin stopping at the top of the staircase a second later. His left hand touches the top of the railing, looking down toward his friend to address her. You can see the bottom of the bookcase that was on display at the top of the page, along with the top of one of the other bookcases on the ground floor.
GREM [intrigued]: Your Da was a preacher? What religion?
Panel 4: Same setting/layout as Panel 2. Tasha looks up toward Mr. Allen as he comes properly into her line of sight. Her hand presses the pages she was previous reading and the table underneath them. There's a look of fond remembrance mixed with a touch of anger in her eyes as she speaks.
TASHA: Catholic. I was raised that way before Gen. Ubico came to power and didn't like what he said in the pulpit and deemed him a threat to the state. GREM [Off-Panel]: My sympathies, my friend...
Panel 5: Back to Grem in a similar setting and layout to what we saw in Panel 3. He resumes his descent in a semi-slow fashion down the long hard oak staircase. There's a genuine look of empathy and sadness in his eyes listening to the story, thinking back to his own past.
GREM [Cont.]: I've had a similarly...fraught relationship with the Catholic faith and the god they worship.
